South Korean boy group 2PM has been known for its close bond and harmonious member relationships since its debut. However, member Lee Jun-ho (이준호) recently made a surprising confession, revealing that 2PM has, in fact, had fierce arguments behind closed doors, even resorting to swearing. This admission contrasts sharply with the group's long-standing "no-fights" image portrayed on television.
Adding to the intrigue, the conversation also touched upon the relationships within girl group TWICE. Sana (사나) insisted, "We really haven't fought." Lee Jun-ho playfully retorted, "Wait until you've been together for seven years; you might also say, 'We fought back then.'" This unexpected exchange highlighted the private dynamics of both groups, becoming a memorable moment on the show.
On Oct. 1, Lee Jun-ho appeared on "SANA's Freezing Interview," a program on the YouTube channel "일일칠 117" (117). The latest episode, titled "The Devil of FOX, Senior Jun-ho Appears," featured him discussing 2PM's group dynamics during their active years with TWICE member Sana.
Recalling the order of hair and makeup sessions, Lee Jun-ho revealed that in the beginning, if someone finished early and another late, they would think, "Surely, next time, they'll come earlier." To his amusement, the latecomers "never did," prompting him to chuckle.
Sana then curiously asked, "Have you guys ever fought?" Lee Jun-ho answered almost without hesitation, "Yes, we have." He confessed, "Perhaps everyone is used to sugarcoating things, or they genuinely don't remember, but everyone says we don't fight. However, we actually fought very fiercely."
Lee Jun-ho further explained why 2PM always gave the impression of being "super close and never fighting" on shows. He laughed, "Sometimes I wonder why everyone says we don't fight? Then, at some point, I started saying 'we don't fight' myself on shows."
Even if they had "just fought" or "fought yesterday," they would still say, "We don't fight; we resolve things by talking" in front of the cameras. He stated, "Of course, we do eventually resolve things by talking, but arguing while simultaneously claiming not to argue seems to have become a natural process."
In other words, after years of working together, 2PM members inevitably had minor disagreements, but they always resolved issues through communication, thus maintaining their "close relationship" image in the public eye.
At this point, Lee Jun-ho turned the question to Sana, asking, "What about you, TWICE?" Sana confidently replied, "We really haven't fought." To her surprise, Lee Jun-ho immediately laughed and responded, "Wait until you've been together for seven years; you might also say, 'We fought back then.'"
Sana reiterated, "We really do resolve everything by talking." Lee Jun-ho, however, concluded, "Then you have fought!" His remark instantly sent the set into laughter.
Additionally, Lee Jun-ho praised Sana's eloquence, revealing he had seen videos of her speaking in the past and thought, "Sana must be good at arguing." He described Sana as someone who clearly lays out facts, stating, "She speaks very logically, always using facts, without too much emotion, and her Korean is excellent."
At this, Lee Jun-ho once again thought of 2PM's past arguments, adding with a laugh, "We argued like that too, except we'd mix in some swearing." This unexpected revelation again brought laughter to the set, showing fans a side of 2PM that is distinctly different from their on-screen persona.
