Another member of the former K-pop girl group 4Minute is getting married. Following HyunA's marriage to Yong Jun-hyung, former member Jeon Ji-yoon (전지윤) is also reportedly set to walk down the aisle, becoming the second member of the group to marry. According to Korean media outlet MHN Sports on October 4, Jeon Ji-yoon is scheduled to hold her wedding on October 22 in Seoul, officially starting a family with her non-celebrity boyfriend.
The wedding will reportedly be a private affair, with only family and close friends invited to attend the intimate ceremony. Details regarding the groom's identity, how the couple met, and the duration of their relationship have not been disclosed to the public.
The first 4Minute member to marry was HyunA (현아). She tied the knot with former BEAST member Yong Jun-hyung (용준형) on October 11, 2022, at Samcheonggak in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. The couple met while both were active under the same agency, Cube Entertainment. They publicly confirmed their relationship in January 2022 by sharing a photo of themselves holding hands on social media, marrying approximately nine months after going public.
Now, approximately two years after HyunA's wedding, Jeon Ji-yoon's marriage announcement adds another married member to 4Minute's roster.
Jeon Ji-yoon and HyunA debuted together in 4Minute in 2009. The group rose to fame with hit songs like “Hot Issue,” “Muzik,” “Mirror Mirror,” “Volume Up,” “What's Your Name?”, “Whatcha Doin' Today?”, and “Crazy,” becoming one of the representative second-generation K-pop girl groups. Jeon Ji-yoon was noted for her strong rapping and vocal abilities within the group. In 2013, she also formed the sub-unit “2YOON” with fellow member Heo Ga-yoon (허가윤), releasing the song “24/7.”
After 4Minute disbanded in 2016, Jeon Ji-yoon transitioned to a solo music career, releasing her first solo single “Day and Night” and actively participating in songwriting and composition, continuously expanding her musical endeavors.
In recent years, she has also ventured into different fields, recently revealing that she has become a web novel writer. In March of this year, Jeon Ji-yoon appeared on the YouTube channel “Jjindeul's Page” (찐들의 페이지), where she shared that she writes web novels under a pen name. She explained that she had always enjoyed reading web novels and later developed a desire to write her own. She enrolled in a writer training academy, was selected as an outstanding student, and successfully signed a contract to officially debut as an author.
Although 4Minute disbanded years ago, the members have remained in touch. In June of this year, to celebrate the group's 17th debut anniversary, member Kwon So-hyun (권소현) prepared commemorative gifts for the other members. Jeon Ji-yoon also shared memories of their group activities on social media, expressing gratitude to her bandmates. With this latest wedding news, many fans are hoping for more opportunities for the former members to reunite in the future.
