This year, the Jarasum Jazz Festival is particularly drawing attention for its innovative inclusion of an artificial intelligence (AI) pianist performance.

Jarasum: French Jazz Meets an AI Pianist
The 23rd Jarasum Jazz Festival, a three-day event held in Gapyeong (가평), Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, opened last Friday (October 3, 2026). This year, the festival shines a spotlight on French jazz to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. The Korea Herald specifically highlighted the groundbreaking appearance of an artificial intelligence (AI) pianist on stage. Grammy winner Nate Smith is set to perform the opening act, while Tigran Hamasyan will headline the closing performance. In total, 64 teams from both Korea and abroad are participating.

Busan International Film Festival: A 10-Day Cinematic Feast
The 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) began its 10-day journey today (October 6, 2026). According to RSS_KDRAMA, the festival will screen 316 films from 59 countries across 31 screens in 8 theaters. Among these, 93 films are scheduled to have their world premieres. Director Kim Jong-kwan (김종관)'s 'The Table: Day and Night' has been selected as the opening film. As an international event recognized with FIAPF A-list accreditation, BIFF has also expanded its competition sections and industry programs.
