BTS's "Swim" Embroiled in Plagiarism Lawsuit! HYBE and Songwriters Named
BTS's song "Swim" has recently become embroiled in a new plagiarism lawsuit. Foreign media reports indicate that three lesser-known songwriters claim the song used parts of one of their unreleased demos.
Three Songwriters File Lawsuit
According to reports, the case was filed on July 8th, with Steve Cooper, Jon Sandler, and Greylyn Johnson claiming that "Swim" bears similarities to their own work.
The three stated in the lawsuit that after "multiple listenings, they came to what they believe is the obvious and inescapable conclusion that the song copied a substantial portion of the original work."
Lawsuit Doesn't Directly Name BTS, But Lists HYBE and Songwriters
The report also mentions that the lawsuit document does not specifically list BTS as a defendant, but it does name HYBE, as well as the songwriters involved in creating the popular track.
