Actress Choi Yeon-cheong, Once in Super Junior MV, Reveals Elite Family on 'Knowing Bros'

Korean actress Choi Yeon-cheong (최연청) entered the entertainment industry at a young age, accumulating acting experience as a child star before continuing her career as an adult. She notably appeared in Super Junior's "Magic" music video. Recently, Choi guested on JTBC's variety show "Knowing Bros," where she discussed her career downturns and revealed her surprising family background, becoming a major topic of conversation.

Choi Yeon-cheong is known for her striking visuals, having previously been a "Little Chunhyang" and placing in the Jeonbuk regional finals of the 2013 Miss Korea pageant. On the show, the hosts praised her beauty, noting her resemblance to former I.O.I member Zhou Jieqiong and describing her as an "actress who stepped out of a wuxia novel," drawing gasps of admiration from the set.

However, the attention her looks garnered also led Choi to a period of overconfidence. She recalled that as her acting career began to gain momentum, the constant praise for her appearance made her think, "Is being pretty all it takes?" This led her to relax her efforts and even stop practicing her acting.

She eventually decided to shift her focus to China, a move that unexpectedly became a turning point, allowing her to gradually build popularity and recognition there.

Beyond her acting career, Choi Yeon-cheong's family background astonished everyone on set. Comedian Kim Shin-young directly stated, "Her father was a judge, and her husband is also currently a judge. Her family includes not only legal professionals but also media company representatives and National Assembly members." The hosts described her family as having a "golden spoon" background.
