[K-Pop Shockwave] Click-B's Ha Hyun-gon Reveals Non-Voluntary Departure: "The Company Seemed to Want Me Gone Too"

Ha Hyun-gon, a member of the Korean boy group Click-B, left the group years ago, a move long considered by the public as a simple lineup change. However, he recently revealed on a show that leaving the group was not his decision. Instead, after another member expressed their intent to leave, the company began to make him feel pushed out as well.

Click-B Reunites as Full Group After 11 Years, Recalls Members Leaving During Peak

Click-B recently appeared as a full group on KBS 2TV's program 'Happy Together: I Like That I’m Not Alone,' marking their first reunion as a complete group in 11 years. During the show, the members looked back at the period during the group's peak when three members had left.

Yoo Ho-seok (also known as Evan) explained on the show that he chose to leave back then because he debuted immediately after graduating middle school and wanted time to explore who he was outside of the group.

Ha Hyun-gon Reveals Departure Reason: "It Wasn't My Choice to Leave"

However, Ha Hyun-gon stated that his situation was completely different. He revealed that member No Min-hyuk had first expressed his desire to leave, and then the company began to push him out as well. Ha Hyun-gon said, "After Min-hyuk said he was leaving, the company made me feel like, 'Since Min-hyuk is leaving, you might as well leave too.'"

Ha Hyun-gon believes this decision was related to Click-B's original band formation. After the group lost its guitarist, he felt the company no longer saw the need to maintain the band concept, and therefore no longer felt his position was necessary within the group.

This confession gives Ha Hyun-gon's departure a heavier meaning, especially since he didn't actually want to leave Click-B. Member Oh Jong-hyuk also recalled that on the day the departing members moved out of the dorm, he was sleeping when Ha Hyun-gon came to say goodbye. That image remains vivid years later.

Oh Jong-hyuk described, "Hyun-gon came to say goodbye, and he truly looked like he was crying tears of blood." This dramatic description initially shocked the show's cast, but Ha Hyun-gon quickly lightened the mood, explaining that he had actually undergone double eyelid surgery just a day or two before.
