DIGNITY Member Hyunjin Departs Group Just After Second Anniversary
Hyunjin (형진), a member of the South Korean boy group DIGNITY, has unexpectedly departed from the group. His agency, PCS Entertainment, recently announced his official cessation of activities with DIGNITY, a piece of news that caught fans off guard.
PCS Entertainment, DIGNITY's agency, released an official statement via its X (formerly Twitter) account, explaining that after extensive discussions with Hyunjin regarding his future activities, both parties reached a mutual agreement for his departure from the group.
The agency stated, "After thorough discussions with Hyunjin regarding his future activities, both parties reached a consensus for Hyunjin to leave DIGNITY." Consequently, he officially ceased his activities as a DIGNITY member and all related engagements as of the announcement date.
Addressing the sudden news, the company apologized to fans, saying, "We apologize for causing concern to fans with such sudden news." However, the agency noted that the specific reasons for Hyunjin's departure are personal and difficult to disclose publicly, asking for fans' understanding.
The company also announced that DIGNITY will continue as a four-member group and pledged to do its utmost to ensure the remaining members can continue their entertainment activities stably. Finally, the agency thanked fans for their continuous support and love for Hyunjin and urged them to continue supporting DIGNITY in the future.
DIGNITY officially debuted in 2024 and just celebrated its second anniversary this year. The group previously participated in the idol survival show "Peak Time," which helped them gain a loyal fanbase.
Now, with a member's sudden departure announced just after their second anniversary, fans are completely caught off guard. Following the news, social media was flooded with comments. One fan expressed sadness, saying, "I'm really devastated, especially on an unannounced Friday. I hope everything goes well for you in the future, thank you for everything you've done."
Other fans were confused, asking, "Why? I thought everything was fine, what happened?" Some reacted with shock, exclaiming, "Wait, what happened?! Why?!" and "Hyunjin, what's going on? This news is completely too sudden!"
Many fans also sent their well wishes, hoping that Hyunjin would embark on a new path after leaving the group.
