Yoon Hye-jin (윤혜진), former principal dancer of the Korean National Ballet and wife of actor Uhm Tae-woong (엄태웅), recently shared her method of sex education for her teenage daughter. She stressed that parents should not avoid discussing emotional issues during their children's development, but rather establish correct sexual awareness and contraception knowledge early. She even stated directly, "Contraception is absolutely essential!" Her direct and practical educational approach has sparked discussion among netizens.
On the 29th, Yoon uploaded a new video to her personal YouTube channel, "Yoon Hye-jin's What see TV." In it, she and friends of 30 years answered subscribers' life dilemmas. One parent revealed her ninth-grade daughter recently started dating, prompting concerns about how to approach sex education and whether parents should proactively discuss contraception and consent in intimate relationships.
In response, Yoon stated she prefers not to hide anything, but rather to explain things to her children in a direct and easy-to-understand manner. She believes, "By ninth grade, they know everything, even by seventh grade. It's just that in our generation, people always avoided talking about these things and felt ashamed." She argued that instead of letting children have a partial understanding of such knowledge, parents should initiate the conversation and discuss it openly.
Regarding how to communicate with her daughter, Yoon also shared her approach. She directly tells her daughter, "Sperm is in the boy's body, and eggs are in the girl's body. When they combine, a baby is formed, but this shouldn't happen before the age of 20." She also reminds her that once she becomes an adult, if she truly meets someone she loves and they decide to be intimate, it is essential to use contraception.

Yoon emphasized that sex education doesn't necessarily mean children formally sitting down for a serious lesson. Instead, it should be communicated gradually in a relaxed and natural way, considering the child's age and comprehension level. She particularly stressed that, no matter what, children should be clearly told "to always use contraception" to establish correct concepts from a young age.

Yoon Hye-jin and Uhm Tae-woong married in January 2013 and welcomed their daughter, Ji-on (지온), in June of the same year. Their daughter currently attends Sunhwa Arts Middle School, majoring in vocal music. As their child enters adolescence, Yoon has placed greater importance on parent-child communication and sex education. However, their marriage has also weathered significant storms in the past.
In 2016, at the peak of his acting career, Uhm was suddenly embroiled in allegations of sexual solicitation and sexual assault, severely damaging his established image as a loving father overnight. At the time, a massage parlor employee accused him of sexual assault, causing a huge uproar when the incident became public. After a police investigation, the sexual assault charges were not upheld, but Uhm was found to have engaged in sexual solicitation, for which he was penalized, and his acting career subsequently came to a halt.
This scandal not only devastated Uhm's public image but also brought their family life under intense public scrutiny. As public pressure mounted, Yoon also suffered considerable hardship, and the couple's relationship became a focal point of public discussion. Although there were speculations that their marriage might end, Yoon ultimately chose to face the situation with her husband, and they did not divorce.
Before the incident, Uhm had just participated in the parenting reality show "The Return of Superman," showcasing his daily life with his daughter and gaining significant public attention for his approachable "warm dad" image. Unexpectedly, after the scandal broke, his image instantly reversed. He subsequently issued a public apology, expressed deep remorse, and largely withdrew from the public eye.
In 2017, Uhm attempted a comeback through a film, but due to public opinion, his promotional activities were very low-key, and his acting career did not go smoothly. Now, Yoon's renewed public sharing of her family life and her daughter's upbringing has once again brought the couple's recent situation into the spotlight.
