FIFTY FIFTY Keena suddenly drops the lawsuit against ATTRAKT

Caridee小編10/17/2023 1 min read

The female group FIFTY FIFTY's member Keena suddenly abandoned the exclusive contract and halted the lawsuit for false accusations, bringing a new dimension to the conflict with the management company ATTRAKT. ATTRAKT also stated that they will closely monitor and engage in discussions.

It is reported that Keena has submitted a repeal of provisional disposition to halt the effect of an exclusive contract to the Seoul High Court via her legal representative on the 16th. The legal representative of FIFTY FIFTY explained, "Only when Keena appoints a new legal representative and submits a repeal will the lawsuit of the remaining three members continue."

Earlier, the Seoul Central District Court rejected FIFTY FIFTY's application for a temporary injunction on exclusive contract effectiveness, stating, "It's hard to determine whether the obligation to provide liquidation information was violated, and it's also difficult to see it as a violation of health management obligations. Ending the business with The Givers does not violate the exclusive contract." In response to this, the members immediately filed a protest, however, today there are rumors that member Keena has temporarily stopped the lawsuit.

In response, ATTRAKT informed the Korean media that Keena is considering a return to the company. They mentioned that they intend to have a discussion with Keena to understand her intentions and the direction for resuming her activities. However, as of now, she has not yet reached out to CEO Jeon Hong-jun.

FIFTY FIFTY, with their popular song "Cupid", made history in K-POP by hitting the Billboard Hot100 chart. However, in June, a sudden twist occurred when all four members, through their legal representative, applied to the court for an injunction to terminate their exclusive contracts, causing a huge uproar.

FIFTY FIFTY continues to expose allegations that the company is forcing them to lose weight

The dispute between FIFTY FIFTY and their management company ATTRAKT is still ongoing. The usually silent members of FIFTY FIFTY have unexpectedly voiced their protests on their personal IG accounts, countering the company's claim that it "takes care of its members." The four members of FIFTY FIFTY, Keena, Saena, Sio, and Aran, have been continuously revealing secrets about their management company, ATTRAKT, on their IG account fifi_fifi1118 for three consecutive days. It's been two months since they posted their first message on August 17th, stating, "We must find out the truth in difficulties". The members made three announcements over three days from the 12th to the 14th, presenting evidence that CEO Jun Hong Joon of ATTRAKT used the advance payment from the investment company as expenses for the FIFTY FIFTY event and settled it without prior notice, and attended the investment briefing of the U.S. management company H. FIFTY FIFTY also pointed out that the company's forced weight loss and stress led to a severe deterioration in mental health. Specific illnesses were detailed, and four members even uploaded their hospital diagnoses as proof. The company forced them to go ahead with recording, filming, and advertising schedules without considering the artists' conditions. However, their expressions of frustration and injustice on Instagram did not change netizens' attitudes. Netizens commented, "If they were initially in poor health, they shouldn't have made their debut. It's problematic to attend investment briefings and proceed with advertisement shootings before a holiday schedule without prior explanation. The members seem to be completely clueless about how society operates like students." Most importantly, netizens pointed out that FIFTY FIFTY tried to change the direction of public opinion by using evidence that the court didn't approve, which made netizens more unsatisfied. Previously, FIFTY FIFTY filed an injunction application to suspend the exclusive contract with the agency in June this year, but the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court rejected the application, saying "ATTRAKT did not violate the liquidation and health management obligations". Some netizens speculated that after FIFTY FIFTY disagreed with the judgment, they appealed and needed to continue the legal contest with the company. The members are eager to create a favorable situation for themselves, which is why they continue to post explosive articles. Some netizens pointed out that the members' "selective" communication is very immature. Articles criticizing FIFTY FIFTY have been continuously appearing on various Korean websites, but the members of FIFTY FIFTY have not opened the function to reply to posts on Instagram, indicating that they just want to express their opinions.

Regarding this, ATTRAKT's representative,Jeon Hong-jun, expressed hope for reconciliation with the members and continually implied that activities could be resumed at any time. However, the members have been silent for 2 months, hiding behind their families and lawyers, and adamantly stating, "We will never go back."

In August, the members suddenly expressed their feelings through a handwritten letter on their private IG, saying, "Taking this incident as an opportunity, we hope to rectify our relationship with the management company, which has been forcing us to work in the wrong way. We will gather and submit evidence and information to support the truth, and we will make an effort to dismiss any misconceptions and misunderstandings." Recently, the members once again exposed allegations that the company disregards members' health conditions.

FIFTY FIFTY's agency files a lawsuit against "We Want to Know" program's "fake employees."K-Pop

FIFTY FIFTY's agency files a lawsuit against "We Want to Know" program's "fake employees."

The FIFTY FIFTY incident still hasn't come to a close, and the recent SBS current affairs program "We Want to Know" has caused a series of controversies due to suspected bias towards the members. The representative of FIFTY FIFTY's management company, Jeon Hong-joon, decided to file a lawsuit against the related parties today. On the morning of the 11th, Jun Hong Joon, representative of Attrakt, the company to which FIFTY FIFTY belongs, submitted a lawsuit, targeting an individual A who falsely claimed to be an insider in SBS's "We Want to Know." On the 11th, Attrakt announced, "On the 19th of August, in the 1365th episode of SBS's 'We Want to Know' titled 'Billboard and Female Group - Who broke the Wings', Mr. A, who posed as an insider for the interview under suspicion of spreading falsehoods and harming reputations, filed a lawsuit at the Gangnam Police Station on the 11th." "We Want to Know" conducted an interview focusing on the FIFTY FIFTY incident. After the interview was aired, the Broadcasting Communications Review Committee received complaints from 1,146 citizens this year, with viewers accusing the show of being "biased towards the members." Defendant A stated in the program, "After the song 'CUPID' suddenly became popular, I only thought 'I also want to make some money'. Until the members debuted, I never attended any end of the month evaluations. Why am I suddenly referred to as the father of FIFTY FIFTY?" conveying a message that completely contradicts the truth. Attrakt's lawyer stated, "The remarks of Mr. A, whose identity is unknown, have had a significant impact on the reputation of the representative Cheon Hong-jun of Atract amidst an ongoing false disposition lawsuit between Attrakt and FIFTY FIFTY. However, Mr. A's statements are clearly based on the false assumption that representative Jun Hong Joon is only concerned with economic benefits, spreading false facts. Such misleading statements may misinterpret the efforts of Jun Hong Joon and damage his reputation in society," explaining the reason for the lawsuit. Related person from Attrakt pointed out, "In 'We Want to Know,' a person named A, who claims to be associated with the inside and was interviewed unidentified, is a person who even the company employees don't know," suspecting someone is impersonating as an Attrakt employee making false statements.
