BIGBANG members G-Dragon (權志龍) and Daesung (姜大聲) recently embarked on a trip to New York, delighting fans with their affectionate and humorous interactions. Their dynamic was so reminiscent of a married couple on vacation that G-Dragon even playfully referred to Daesung as his "wife," sparking laughter among their fanbase.
On September 29, G-Dragon released a new video, "G-DRAGON - GD loves NYC. GD's Day," on his YouTube channel. The video documented his journey with Daesung to New York after concluding BIGBANG's concert in Oakland, USA.
In the video, G-Dragon chuckled, stating, "Today, the honeymoon begins again. It's an endless honeymoon." He then explained why the two were traveling to New York alone: "Because Taeyang already has a family." Daesung quickly chimed in with a joke, "I heard Youngbae hyung (Taeyang) deliberately gave up his spot for us." Their back-and-forth banter, even before reaching New York, already had the feel of a playful "marital squabble."
For this trip, the duo traveled to New York by private jet, chatting side-by-side during the approximately 5-hour flight. Upon arrival in New York, G-Dragon took a boat tour with his company staff. He couldn't help but grumble, "Why do I have to take a boat tour every time I come here? I don't even do this in Korea." He even quipped that "a boat tour is the most pointless activity."
Once on board, he continued to complain, "I've been to New York so many times, why do I still have to do this? I don't even do this in Korea." He sighed upon learning the boat trip would last 1.5 hours. However, when the Statue of Liberty suddenly appeared, G-Dragon's attitude did a complete 180. He immediately rushed outside to take photos, instantly switching into full tourist mode, a stark contrast that amused viewers.
Afterward, G-Dragon headed to a famous Korean restaurant in New York. He revealed that because he had been sleeping so much, it took him two days to finally have his first meal, admitting, "Recently, I really haven't had time to sleep, especially when I come to New York." He also joked that he had "no jet lag" and recalled once sleeping for a legendary "three days" straight in New York. However, with age, he can now only manage "a day and a half," confessing, "Three days is really impossible now."
The next day, G-Dragon met up with Daesung again for a meal. The two reunited like long-lost friends, even breaking into a "couple's dance" before eating, making for a very amusing interaction. G-Dragon then showed off his manicure and suddenly told Daesung, "Let's go home today and do my wife's nails. I'll do all five fingers for you." Daesung pretended not to hear, turning his head away, which filled the room with laughter.
The pair even played "Love Shot" together, showcasing a bond that goes beyond typical bandmates. G-Dragon laughingly suggested, "Our channel name should be 'Couple Log,' or even 'Wife Log.'"
This series of interactions led fans to praise their incredible chemistry, once again highlighting the deep and humorous camaraderie among the BIGBANG members.
