People are speculating that Girls Generation's Sunny has left SM Entertainment. Nation's Girl Group, Girls' Generation recently celebrated their 16th anniversary. On August 5, Girls' Generation's 16th-anniversary event was held at KWANGYA Seoul operated by SM Entertainment.

The group picture was shown on the screen but when they showed Oh!GG, only four members showed up excluding Sunny. The four members also left a special message for fans.

Fans only found out about this during the day of their anniversary through the event. Fans started to speculate that Sunny didn't renew her contract with SM Entertainment.

Earlier in 2017, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun left SM Entertainment after 10 years since their debut. During that time, netizens were worried about Girls' Generation's future thinking that they will disband or continue as five members.
