Han So-hee's Blonde Bob Draws Online Criticism, Reminiscent of 'The Glory' Character
South Korean actress Han So-hee (한소희) recently appeared on the YouTube show “No Prepare” (차린건 쥐뿔도 없지만), ditching her usual long hair for a short, golden-blonde bob. Following the broadcast, her new look unexpectedly became a hot topic online, with some netizens making critical comments such as “She suddenly looks older” and “I thought she was Moon Dong-eun’s mother from The Glory.” Han has previously discussed her views on “aging criticism,” admitting she had already begun mentally preparing for it.
Han joined host Lee Young-ji (이영지) on her YouTube show, sporting her bleached blonde short hair and a black outfit that highlighted her fair skin. She brought alcohol as a gift, and the two chatted while drinking, revealing Han’s candid and straightforward personality.
During their conversation, Han suddenly looked at Lee and remarked, “Young-ji, I envy you being 25.” Lee laughed and replied, “You’re still very young, why say that?” Han candidly responded, “But lately, whenever I see people in their 20s, I still feel envious.”

When asked what she would do if she could go back in time, Han emotionally stated, “I would probably live more for myself. In my 20s, I really lived too much for others.” She even became emotional mid-sentence, then told Lee, “So you should live for yourself.”

However, after the video was released, some netizens focused on Han’s appearance and hairstyle, commenting, “The blonde hair really doesn’t suit her,” “Why does she suddenly look so much older?” “Her face looks a bit different,” “The youthful plumpness seems to have disappeared,” and “She looks like she aged a lot.” Some even sarcastically remarked, “I thought she was Moon Dong-eun’s mother from The Glory, is it because of the hairstyle?” Conversely, other netizens argued that the issue was not Han herself, but that the hairstyle did not complement her aura.
In fact, Han had previously brought up her thoughts on “aging criticism” during an appearance on the YouTube channel “Channel Fullmoon” (채널 십오야). At the time, Producer Na Young-seok (나영석) asked her, “Where do you get negative comments?” Han replied, “I’ve actually started preparing for how to deal with it when I start getting criticized for getting older one day.”
She admitted that aging is an unstoppable process. “This is something that must be accepted to a certain extent, and it’s impossible to reverse. So I’m starting to think now about what kind of mindset I’ll use to accept it when that time comes.”
Han even joked that she might start with thoughts like, “Yes, I’m old, so what?” and then gradually shift the public’s focus from her appearance to her acting and roles. “I’ll think about how to make people pay attention to my acting, not just my looks.” She also revealed that she had previously invited veteran actresses Kim Hye-soo (김혜수) and Kim Hae-sook (김해숙) to her home to chat about topics concerning actors, appearance, and the changes that come with age.
Now, with Han facing renewed scrutiny over her appearance due to her new style, her past mature reflections on “getting older” and public perception have resurfaced, sparking further discussion.
