Rising Actor Hong Min-ki Accused of Dating Violence, Girlfriend Alleges Threats and Assault

South Korean actor Hong Min-ki (홍민기), born in 2002, began his acting career in 2020. He gained recognition for playing the younger version of Joo Ji-hoon (주지훈) in the drama Love in the Dogwood Tree and has since appeared in works like Thug Reading Club and The Kind Thief. He recently completed filming for the second season of Thug Reading Club.

As the rising actor was garnering attention and anticipating new projects, Hong Min-ki has suddenly been accused of dating violence. An influencer, identified as "A" and boasting approximately 20,000 followers, publicly alleged that Hong Min-ki threw a soju bottle at her, physically assaulted her, choked her, and made statements that seemed to threaten her life. "A" not only shared photos of her injuries but also sent a certified legal document to Hong Min-ki through her legal representative, sparking rapid discussion across Korean online communities.

In the early hours of the 19th, "A" posted a lengthy statement on social media, directly naming Hong Min-ki and revealing a document described as a "Notice of Legal Action Against Illegal Criminal Acts," reportedly sent to him by her lawyer.

According to the public document, dated the 28th of last month, "A" claims that Hong Min-ki threw a soju bottle at her on the street, causing it to shatter. She alleges this was an attack with a dangerous object, resulting in shock and psychological trauma.

Beyond physical violence, "A" also accused Hong Min-ki of making threats. She claims that he called her approximately 40 times in a short period, suspecting her of dating others, and during these calls, he allegedly uttered threatening remarks such as, "I want to kill both of you."
