Hwasa was summoned by the police for her alleged 'indecent performance'!

Singer Hwasa had previously come under scrutiny from a parents' group for her 19-rated performance at the Sungkyunkwan University festival. Consequently, she was investigated by the police. According to a report in a Korean media outlet on the 10th, Hwasa was summoned by the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul at the end of last month. During the interrogation, she was questioned about the intention and context of her performance at that time.

Hwasa sparked controversy during the filming of a tvN's variety show on the celebration stage at Sungkyunkwan University on May 12th, when she licked her finger and then moved it toward a specific part of her body.

Although this scene was cut off from the variety show, it went viral on the internet after the celebration through 'fan-camming', causing controversy among netizens who thought it was overly sentimental.

Subsequently, on June 22nd, the Student Parents' Human Rights Protection Alliance filed a complaint demanding an investigation into Hwasa's alleged obscene performance, expressing that "Hwasa's behavior may elicit thoughts of perverted X relations, it is enough to evoke shame and disgust in spectators witnessing the performance."

Therefore, the police have also summoned the plaintiff and Hwasa for investigation, and obtained relevant materials from their respective companies. They are currently examining whether the performance is subject to criminal punishment based on legal principles.

Conversely, in December 2009, GD also performed at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena. His performance was criticized for potentially suggesting inappropriate behavior, leading the Ministry of Health and Welfare to request an investigation by the police.
