Even Ko So-young Approves! T-ara's Hyomin Reveals Why She Married Her Husband of Just Six Months

T-ara member Park Sun-young (박선영), better known as Hyomin, married her non-celebrity husband, a finance professional, last April amidst blessings from numerous entertainment industry friends. Hyomin recently opened up about her relationship with her husband, who is 10 years her senior, admitting she felt a special connection from their first meeting. She decided to marry him after about six months of dating, driven by a sudden realization.

On the 15th, actress Ko So-young (고소영) released a new video on her YouTube channel, inviting Hyomin for a chat that covered everything from photography and editing tips to married life. When discussing her own marriage, Hyomin openly shared the journey from meeting her husband to tying the knot. Ko So-young reflected on Hyomin's marriage, saying, "She always seemed like a child to me, so when she said she was getting married, I suddenly felt like she had truly grown into an adult."

Hyomin revealed that she and her husband first met at a friend's birthday party. She arrived a little late that day and happened to sit in an empty spot, which serendipitously placed her close to her future husband, leading to their initial interaction.

Her husband's first impression was also quite unique. Hyomin recalled, "I didn't look closely at the time, but I vaguely had a feeling at first sight." Ko So-young chimed in with a laugh, "He certainly has the kind of looks that make you want to take another glance."

To her surprise, Hyomin was shocked when she later learned her husband's actual age. Based on his appearance, she initially thought he was only about four or five years older than her, but their actual age difference was a full 10 years. "When I asked, I found out, 'How many years apart? 10 years,'" Hyomin said with a laugh. Ko So-young was also amazed by how well he maintained his youthful appearance.

Even more unexpectedly, Hyomin, who previously hadn't given much thought to marriage, changed her mind after meeting her current husband. She confessed, "Honestly, the word 'marriage' didn't have much concrete meaning to me, but after meeting him, those thoughts naturally started to emerge."

As for when she decided to marry? Hyomin revealed that about six months into their relationship, she was talking on the phone with a friend about it when a thought suddenly popped into her head. She laughed, saying, "Rather than letting him go to someone else, I didn't want that, so I thought, 'Ah, then I'll get married.'" Her comment about "not wanting to let him go to someone else" brought laughter to the set.

The two then discussed having children and future career plans. Hyomin shared that she has always wanted to try musical theater. Ko So-young exclaimed, "That suits you very well," and encouraged her. However, Hyomin admitted she is also contemplating how to balance having children with her work. "Should I do it after having children? Otherwise, if I do it first, time will just fly by..." she said, revealing her dilemma.

In response, Ko So-young shared her own experience, explaining that after she got married, she focused on her marriage and childbirth. Looking back, she feels she missed out on some things she could have accomplished then. She advised Hyomin, "I think it's better to do what you want to do."

Hyomin agreed that not everything in life can go according to plan, especially when trying to perfectly arrange having children and pursuing new challenges. The two concluded their conversation with a laugh, saying, "Let's just see which one happens first!"
