Jang Dong-yoon to Marry Actress Kim Seung-yoon in October
South Korean actor Jang Dong-yoon (장동윤) announced his upcoming marriage. The actor, in his early 30s, will tie the knot with actress Kim Seung-yoon (김승윤), five years his junior, this October. The couple, who have been dating for several years, plans a private and simple ceremony, inviting only close family and friends.
According to a report by Korean media outlet OSEN on August 25, Jang will marry fellow actress Kim in October. Sources close to the couple revealed that their shared profession as actors fostered a deep connection. They previously collaborated on a project where Jang was the director and Kim was an actress, leading to the development of their romantic relationship.

The couple maintained an extremely discreet relationship, with even those closest to them unaware of their romance. Only after their relationship stabilized and a strong trust was established did they decide to commit to a lifetime together. Following the Korean media reports, Jang also shared the happy news with his fans via his personal Instagram.
Jang has often discussed his views on marriage in past interviews, stating that "marriage is a major life challenge." He also revealed that he consistently prayed for his future partner, saying, "I like people who are similar to me. Although I have great ambition for my work, I hope to get married before I turn 40." Now, having found his life partner in his 30s, he has fulfilled a wish he made years ago.
Jang's fiancée, Kim, was born in 1997, making her five years younger than Jang. She graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in Film and Visual Arts and officially debuted in 2019 through the KBS 2TV historical drama The Tale of Nokdu. Coincidentally, Jang also gained significant popularity from The Tale of Nokdu, where his impressive cross-dressing performance as a man disguised as a woman became a major highlight of the series.
Since her debut, Kim has primarily been active in art films, independent films, and short films. She has appeared in director Hong Sang-soo's In Water (2023), Our Day (2023), and A Traveler's Needs (2024), as well as works like Be My Ears (2023), Labyrinth (2025), and Yeast (2026), gradually earning recognition for her acting skills.
Additionally, she starred in Be My Ears and Yeast, both directed by her fiancé Jang, showcasing her impressive acting. In television, she appeared last year in the KBS 2TV weekend drama The Real Has Come!, playing the lively and cheerful "diamond spoon" Han Chun, leaving a strong impression as Ahn Jae-wook's character's daughter. More recently, she has appeared in short dramas such as Marry Me 1+2.
Jang's path to acting is also quite unique. A graduate of Hanyang University with a degree in Economics and Finance, he gained public attention in 2015 while still a university student. He helped apprehend a robber during a convenience store incident in Seoul's Gwanak District, which led to him being featured on SBS news as the "handsome university student who caught a robber."
In 2016, he officially debuted through the web drama Game Development Girls. He has since appeared in numerous works, including School 2017, A Poem a Day, Dance Sports Girls, The Tale of Nokdu, Oasis, Daily Dose of Sunshine, Like Flowers in Sand, and My Mom Is a Mantis.
In recent years, Jang has expanded his talents from acting to directing, helming works such as Be My Ears and Yeast. He also recently graduated from Hanyang University after a 15-year hiatus and is currently awaiting the release of his new drama, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store, on Disney+ next year.
As his career continues to flourish, he is now set to embark on another significant life stage, quietly marrying Kim in October.
