Jang Dong-yoon to Marry Actress Kim Seung-yoon in October; Bride's Past Collaborations Draw Attention

Korean actor Jang Dong-yoon (장동윤) recently announced his upcoming October wedding, drawing public attention to the identity and acting career of his fiancée, Kim Seung-yoon (김승윤). Surprisingly, Kim Seung-yoon is not only an actress but has also appeared in and even starred in multiple films directed by Hong Sang-soo (홍상수).

Jang Dong-yoon's agency, BH Entertainment, officially confirmed the marriage on May 25, stating that the couple will hold a private wedding ceremony in October, attended only by close family members, in a low-key service.

Born in 1997, Kim Seung-yoon is five years younger than Jang Dong-yoon. She graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in Film and Visual Arts and made her official debut in 2019 through the drama *The Tale of Nokdu*. Coincidentally, Jang Dong-yoon played the male lead, Jeon Nok-du, in the same series, establishing their connection early in their careers.

Kim Seung-yoon later expanded her acting focus to independent and art-house films. In 2023, she appeared in Hong Sang-soo's *In Water*, followed by roles in *Our Day* and *A Traveler's Needs*, steadily building her experience in art cinema.

When *In Water* was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival, Kim Seung-yoon shared her deep feelings for the film on social media. She wrote, "As a film student and an actress, I feel truly honored. Director Hong Sang-soo, senior Kim Min-hee (김민희), and everyone I worked with... every moment spent with you all was like a gift. Thank you very much."

Beyond their on-screen collaboration, Kim Seung-yoon and Jang Dong-yoon also worked together as director and actress. She starred in Jang Dong-yoon's directorial work, *Become My Ear*, and later took on a leading role in the film *Nuruk*. Their repeated professional collaborations have drawn significant attention to their relationship.

Kim Seung-yoon has also remained active in television. Last year, she appeared in *Please, Five Eagle Brothers!*, playing Han Chun, the daughter of Han Dong-seok (played by Ahn Jae-wook). More recently, she co-starred with Lee Tae-hwan in the short web drama *Marry Me 1+2*.

Notably, Kim Seung-yoon's past collaborations with Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee have resurfaced for discussion following her marriage announcement with Jang Dong-yoon.

Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee's relationship became public after they worked together on the 2015 film *Right Now, Wrong Then*, and their romance has been a subject of public interest ever since. The couple remains together and welcomed a son last year.

With Jang Dong-yoon's wedding announcement, public attention has shifted from just the wedding arrangements to a re-examination of Kim Seung-yoon's past acting career, making the usually low-profile bride-to-be an unexpected topic of conversation.
