BLACKPINK's Jennie to Take Break After Summer Festival Schedule, Reveals Future Plans
Kim Jennie (김제니) of K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has been actively pursuing her solo career alongside group activities, with a highly anticipated new solo album on the horizon. She has already previewed new tracks during recent performances, building significant excitement among fans. However, in a recent interview, Jennie revealed that she plans to take a temporary break and slow down after completing her summer music festival schedule this year.
During an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Jennie discussed her upcoming plans. She stated that after concluding her summer music festival tour, she intends to take an extended vacation to relax and recharge. She also mentioned considering travel to Europe or pursuing other long-desired experiences, looking forward to enjoying some rare private time.
Beyond her forthcoming album, Jennie shared that she now has greater creative control over her music production, allowing her more freedom in the recording studio. Unlike her past tendency to meticulously plan her future, she hopes to maintain more flexibility in the next two to three years, moving away from strictly adhering to schedules.
“I want to leave some blank spaces in my mind to see what else I want to pursue,” Jennie explained. “This feeling of the unknown is very special; it gives me space to think. I see it as a great opportunity, and right now, I just want to cherish every moment.”
Jennie's upcoming album will feature the previously released single “Less Than A Lover,” as well as new songs she has recently previewed during various performances. While the exact date of her final summer music festival performance and the official start of her break have not yet been announced, the news has prompted many fans to express their support, hoping she takes a good rest and returns with more new work after recharging.
