Jeon So-young, Baek Seon-ho Rekindle Dating Buzz With Blue Dragon Series Awards Gesture

Jeon So-young (전소영) and Baek Seon-ho (백선호), who co-starred in the Netflix Korean drama “Girigo: Deadly Wish,” have repeatedly denied dating rumors. But their interaction at the recent 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards has once again fueled fan speculation and sparked heated discussion online.

The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards were held in South Korea on the evening of July 31, with Girls’ Generation member YoonA (윤아) and broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo (전현무) returning as hosts. The awards recognize original Korean dramas and variety shows released on OTT streaming platforms over the past year. Jeon and Baek sat side by side in the audience that night, watching the ceremony and chatting from time to time, and their easy rapport quickly caught fans’ attention.

The moment that truly set the internet swooning, however, came when Jeon won Best New Actress. Jeon took home the award for her role as Se-a in “Girigo: Deadly Wish.” When the hosts announced her name, she appeared overwhelmed and briefly froze, first turning toward cast members from another project, “Rookie Mess Hall Soldier,” for support. Baek, seated beside her, broke into a bright smile and applauded enthusiastically.

Later, during her acceptance speech, Jeon made a point of mentioning Baek. Instead of calling him by his real name, she used the name of his “Girigo: Deadly Wish” character, Geon-woo, while also making the signature hand gesture their characters share in the drama, smiling broadly as she did so.

The camera then cut to Baek in the audience, where he responded with a bright smile of his own. The exchange from across the room lasted only a few seconds, but it immediately sent fans online into a frenzy.

The gesture is reportedly the signal Se-a and Geon-woo use in the drama to convey their feelings to each other from afar.
