Ji Ye-eun, WeDemBoyz Leader Vata to Marry After One Year of Dating

South Korean actress Ji Ye-eun (지예은) recently confirmed her relationship with Vata (바타), leader of the well-known dance crew WeDemBoyz. She has since frequently mentioned her boyfriend on various programs, openly displaying their affection, which has drawn mixed reactions and criticism from some netizens who called her "love-struck." Despite ongoing public discussion, their relationship has remained sweet and stable. News broke this morning (December 2) that the couple is set to marry.

According to a December 2 interview by Korean media outlet MyDaily, Ji Ye-eun and Vata will tie the knot on December 12, holding their wedding ceremony in Seoul.

Sources close to the couple revealed that they are getting married approximately one year after they began dating. Although their courtship period was not long, both expressed certainty and deep love for each other, leading to their decision to marry. The couple has reportedly shared their wedding news with family and friends and has received many blessings.

Their relationship first came to light in April of this year. At the time, both agencies confirmed, "The two were initially colleagues and recently began dating with mutual affection. We hope for your warm support."

It is understood that the couple met at church and developed their relationship through their shared faith. Vata is a devout Christian and has often spoken about his faith on television, revealing, "My mother is a church deacon, and I used to be a middle school teacher at church."

When speaking about Vata, Ji Ye-eun couldn't hide her affection, once sharing, "It's rare to find someone who doesn't drink or smoke these days, but Vata quit after finding faith. He is truly very kind." She also sweetly added, "Vata even learned to cook specifically to make meals for me." Her words conveyed deep adoration for her boyfriend.

Their sweet interactions also extended to stage collaborations. Last year, when Ji Ye-eun and Ji Suk-jin formed the project group "Chungju Ji Clan" and performed at "Waterbomb Seoul 2025," Vata was responsible for choreographing their song "Milkshake."

In May of this year, Ji Ye-eun appeared on the YouTube show "Pinggyego" and openly shared details of her daily life with Vata. Vata is the leader of the dance crew WE DEM BOYZ, and he finished as runner-up in Mnet's dance competition show "Street Man Fighter" in 2022. Last year, he choreographed BLACKPINK member Jennie's song "Like JENNIE" and continues to participate in major music festivals and dance events with his crew.

After approximately one year of dating, the couple, who met through their shared faith at church, has decided to embark on the next stage of their lives together.
