Veteran South Korean actress Park Jung-soo (박정수) recently drew laughter when a show producer playfully suggested marrying actor Jung Kyung-ho (정경호), whom Park treats like her own son. Park's immediate, humorous reaction was to take off her shoe, ready to throw it, amusing everyone on set.
On May 26, Park Jung-soo's YouTube channel, 'Nothing Can Stop Jung-soo' (웬정막), released a video titled "A Set Costs 2 Million Won? The World of Madame Park Jung-soo's Look: Re-wearing Classic Outfits from Past K-Dramas."
In the video, Park Jung-soo visited a large cultural café in Yangpyeong, owned by a friend she has known for 20 years. The production team couldn't help but admire the stunning views of the Namhan River, along with the spacious outdoor performance area and terrace.
Seeing the producer's astonishment, Park Jung-soo asked, "Haven't you been to a place like this before?" The producer repeatedly exclaimed, "It's really beautiful." Park then jokingly asked, "Then do you want to get married here?" The producer quickly responded. When Park followed up with, "Then I'll tell the café owner to help you with the wedding," the producer unexpectedly laughed and said, "I want to marry Jung Kyung-ho."
Upon hearing this, Park Jung-soo's expression instantly changed. She immediately took off her shoe, held it in her hand as if to throw it, and indignantly asked, "Should I just throw this shoe at you once?" Her sudden reaction sent the entire set into fits of laughter.
Park Jung-soo was previously married to an entrepreneur, with whom she had two children before their divorce. In 2008, she publicly confirmed her relationship with renowned drama producer Jung Eul-young (정을영), Jung Kyung-ho's father. Since 2001, they have maintained a common-law marriage for 25 years, living together stably and often drawing public attention. Recently, on her YouTube show, Park Jung-soo uncharacteristically discussed their relationship dynamics, complaining that Jung Eul-young often leaves home, sparking a lively discussion about their candid interactions.
Although they are not officially registered as married, Park Jung-soo has always regarded Jung Kyung-ho as her own son, frequently praising him on television. Speaking about Jung Kyung-ho, she once proudly stated, "He has many qualities I can boast about. He's a very thoughtful person who works hard to make himself happy."
Park Jung-soo also mentioned that from a parent's perspective, Jung Kyung-ho's constant effort to face everything with a positive attitude might be exhausting for him, but he doesn't see it that way. "His happiness index is very high," she added.
The producer's casual remark, "I want to marry Jung Kyung-ho," instantly triggered Park Jung-soo's strong "protective mother" reaction, unexpectedly becoming a hilarious highlight of the show.
