Nicholas (Wang Yi-xiang, 王奕翔), the Taiwanese member of HYBE's nine-member boy group &TEAM, has recently been embroiled in dating rumors. Online users have posted what they claim to be "evidence," suggesting he is in a relationship with a non-celebrity woman. However, the claims have drawn significant skepticism from many netizens, who believe the alleged "evidence" is unsubstantiated.
Recently, a netizen posted on a social media platform, claiming Nicholas is allegedly dating a non-celebrity woman, citing "couple items" and other clues as proof. One piece of alleged evidence was that the two supposedly used the same emoji on social media, interpreted as a secret code for "Lovestagram" (a couple's account).
Furthermore, the accuser recently added "new evidence," comparing Nicholas's "expressions and attitude" during his activities in Korea with his return to Japan. They claimed he looked exhausted while hosting and appearing on variety shows in Korea but suddenly became cheerful upon returning to Japan. This led to speculation that his improved mood was due to anticipating seeing his "Chinese girlfriend" waiting in Tokyo.
The accuser even wrote, "Nicholas looked sad during various MC jobs and variety shows in Korea, but his mood suddenly improved when he thought about returning to Tokyo to see his Chinese girlfriend waiting for him."
Additionally, the accuser pointed out that an Instagram account believed to belong to the "alleged girlfriend" had liked videos related to Nicholas, further presenting this as evidence of their relationship.
However, these claims did not receive widespread agreement from netizens and instead faced significant skepticism. Some netizens directly countered with different photos of Nicholas from the same day, pointing out that in one photo, he was still smiling and greeting everyone, but upon entering the airport, he pulled his hat down and his expression became indifferent. They argued that a romantic relationship cannot be inferred solely based on expressions in different settings.
Netizens sarcastically remarked, "Please show photos from the exact same day! In the first photo, he was clearly smiling and greeting everyone; in the second, he pulled his hat down and was expressionless the moment he entered the airport. Can you really fabricate an entire story from this?"
Another netizen questioned the identity and motives of the accuser's account, commenting, "Don't pretend to be Korean every time you post. We all know how much you dislike Nicholas, which is why you keep creating accounts on different platforms to maliciously spread lies about him."
The netizen also mentioned that the alleged girlfriend had previously publicly accused similar accounts of malicious rumor-mongering, with some people even being harmed as a result. They urged, "Please stop now."
Other netizens called for reporting the relevant accounts, arguing that continuously spreading unverified information could not only harm Nicholas but also affect the woman who is unrelated to the incident.
Currently, the dating rumors have not been confirmed by Nicholas himself or his agency. The "couple items" circulating online and other alleged pieces of evidence remain unverified.
