Actor Kang Hoon (강훈) recently discussed his true relationship with actress Ji Ye-eun (지예은) in a rare interview. The two previously appeared together on the SBS variety show “Running Man,” where their on-screen interactions led to a "love line." Their playful bickering and antics entertained many viewers. With Ji Ye-eun set to marry dancer VATA in December, Kang Hoon was asked if he had personally congratulated her.
Kang Hoon recently met with media at a Seoul cafe to discuss the conclusion of the tvN drama “My Idol President.” During the interview, he also touched upon his connection with Ji Ye-eun. On “Running Man,” the pair often played the role of a bickering couple, and the show even developed a "love line" for them. Their natural and dynamic interactions made them a much-discussed variety show couple among viewers.
However, Ji Ye-eun is now preparing for marriage, with her wedding to dancer VATA scheduled for December. When asked if he had personally congratulated Ji Ye-eun, Kang Hoon candidly replied, “No, I haven’t. We don’t usually keep in regular contact. Although I have her number, I haven’t called her.”
He then added with a laugh, “I imagine she’s already received many congratulations from others. I genuinely wish her all the best and hope everything goes smoothly for her.”
Regarding whether they still keep in touch privately, Kang Hoon was quite frank, revealing that being paired in a "love line" on the show actually made their interactions a bit more awkward. He stated directly, “We actually only know each other because of the variety show; it’s more of a work relationship.” Kang Hoon further explained, “Because the show linked us as a love line, it actually made things a bit uncomfortable between us.”
His remarks have once again drawn attention to their interactions on “Running Man.” What appeared to be a vibrant "variety show couple" on screen is, in reality, a relationship of colleagues who met through work, a dynamic quite different from the on-screen chemistry.
