Korean 'Commander' Kim Jong-kook (김종국) is famously passionate about fitness, and his dedication to exercise is well-known. Recently, while traveling in Taiwan with Choo Sung-hoon (추성훈) and Zico (지코), he and Choo Sung-hoon immediately headed to a gym just 30 seconds from their accommodation upon arrival. They returned to their lodging drenched in sweat after their workout. However, it was Kim Jong-kook's unexpected remark when discussing the choice between relationships and fitness that left Zico speechless.
In the SBS Plus and MBN variety show 'True Men's Travel in Taiwan' (진남자의 여행법 in 대만), which aired on the 20th, Kim Jong-kook, Choo Sung-hoon, and Zico explored Taiwan. Upon reaching their accommodation, Kim Jong-kook and Choo Sung-hoon wasted no time, heading straight to a nearby gym to work out, clearly demonstrating their intense passion for fitness.
Seeing Kim Jong-kook looking satisfied and thoroughly enjoying himself after his workout, Zico couldn't help but pose a hypothetical question: "Let's say you're not married, and you've been dating your girlfriend for over 10 years. What would you do if she asked you to stop working out?"
Faced with this dilemma, Kim Jong-kook initially looked surprised, but then calmly replied, "If we've been dating for over 10 years, breaking up isn't that hard." This unexpected answer left Zico stunned. Zico immediately retorted, "Hyung, you're really too harsh!" He then pressed further, "What if you could never work out again for the rest of your life?"

Kim Jong-kook immediately responded, "Never being able to work out for my whole life? That's too cruel! That kind of thing won't happen, don't think about it too much." He seemed completely unwilling to even imagine a life without exercise.
Kim Jong-kook's love for fitness is no secret. This time, even the hypothetical demand from a "girlfriend of 10 years to stop exercising" couldn't shake his resolve, as he bluntly stated that breaking up wouldn't be that difficult. Zico's reaction of calling him "too harsh" once again highlighted Kim Jong-kook's almost fanatical devotion to fitness.
