Divorce Lawyer Jokingly Warns Kim Jong-kook: 'Not Recommended After Marriage'

South Korean singer Kim Jong-kook (김종국) recently appeared on tvN's variety show "You Quiz on the Block," sharing his journey from singer to variety show personality and YouTube content creator. During the episode, divorce lawyer Park Min-chul (박민철) jokingly warned him, "I don't recommend this kind of behavior," amusing everyone on set.

Kim Jong-kook explained that he debuted as a member of Turbo and later gained immense popularity through the show "X-Man" and his solo song "One Man" (한남자). This success led him to seriously consider pursuing variety entertainment as a career. He admitted, "What truly made me decide to make variety my main profession was 'Family Outing.' I felt that if I just quietly released albums and didn't speak much, it would be difficult to survive in the entertainment industry, so I decided to fully commit to variety shows."

Following this, Kim Jong-kook appeared in popular programs such as "Running Man" and "My Little Old Boy," even winning an Entertainment Grand Prize. He became one of the few artists in the Korean entertainment industry, after Lee Hyori, to receive both a Music Grand Prize and an Entertainment Grand Prize.

In addition to his stellar variety show performances, Kim Jong-kook's YouTube channel has now surpassed 3 million subscribers. Notably, a video of him traveling to Las Vegas with his mother and even working out with her garnered significant attention and discussion.

Discussing his frequent trips with his mother, Kim Jong-kook revealed that he prioritizes creating precious memories over viewership. "Actually, I'm not doing it for the views, but to create more memories with my mom. Looking back at the videos later is truly meaningful, so I plan to keep filming them." Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) praised him, saying, "Many people have this thought, but not many actually do it."

Kim Jong-kook then laughingly shared a phrase his mother often used: "Although your older brother is very smart and excellent, you will be the one living with your mother in the future." He chuckled, saying that he was more emotional like a daughter since childhood, while his mother always teased his brother for being "good at studying but not good at expressing emotions." He humorously added, "But my brother goes to the hospital a lot now because laser treatments are very advanced these days," which made everyone on set burst into laughter.

Just as everyone was enjoying the conversation, the show invited divorce lawyer Park Min-chul to appear and cheer on Kim Jong-kook. However, Park Min-chul suddenly looked down at his phone, appearing distracted. When Yoo Jae-suk called him out, he made a surprising statement: "Can I say something? From the perspective of a divorce lawyer, I see a different kind of development."

He then chuckled and said, "Things like traveling to Las Vegas with your mother, I personally don't really recommend." His remark sent the entire set into laughter. Kim Jong-kook also revealed that after the video was released, many people called him specifically to ask if "this was really okay."

Yoo Jae-suk seized the opportunity to reveal that Park Min-chul had once given his business card to him, Haha (하하), and Ji Suk-jin (지석진) when he appeared on "Running Man." "We asked him at the time, 'Why are you giving us your business card?' And he said, 'Who knows, you might need it someday. And I can handle it discreetly for you, no one will know.'" Yoo Jae-suk recalled with a laugh, causing the entire set to erupt in laughter.

Kim Jong-kook couldn't help but admire Park Min-chul's professionalism, laughing, "He has truly handled many divorce cases for famous people, and even with very close friends, he never reveals a single word. His confidentiality is truly impressive."
