Lee Kwang-soo's Enthusiastic Bubble Interactions Spark Debate Over Fan Etiquette

Actor Lee Kwang-soo (이광수) recently launched his account on the paid fan communication platform Bubble, and his enthusiastic use of the service quickly had fans laughing. Even close friend Kim Woo-bin (김우빈) and several girl group members expressed interest, saying they "also want to subscribe." Lee Kwang-soo's unique variety show charm and approachable nature initially helped him connect with fans, but recent interactions have seen some users allegedly take their jokes too far, sending him sarcastic messages that have ignited a heated debate among Korean netizens.

Lee Kwang-soo officially joined Bubble, a platform designed for one-on-one artist-fan interaction, on the first of the month. Since joining, he has showcased his signature humor, frequently chatting with fans and generating considerable buzz in a short period.

For instance, when a fan mentioned preparing for bed, Lee Kwang-soo responded with a message: "Kids, wake up, it's Bubble time now," acting as an unconventional "forced alarm clock." He was even photographed checking Bubble and chatting with fans while attending D.O.'s concert, humorously remarking, "I think I'm addicted."

Upon discovering that his Bubble interactions had even made entertainment news, Lee Kwang-soo immediately shared the update with his fans, laughing, "Today, whenever I look at my phone, people around me whisper and laugh." This series of reactions amused fans and showed the public his unpretentious, private side.

However, amidst the cheerful interactions, some messages began to appear that caused concern. Recently, screenshots of conversations circulated online, showing users sending messages to Lee Kwang-soo such as: "Ah, oppa, you keep interrupting me when I'm watching Reels. I'm going to turn off notifications." Another user even directly challenged him, saying: "Do you know me? Why do you keep sending messages?"

These sarcastic jokes, once exposed, prompted a large number of netizens to defend Lee Kwang-soo. Many argued that Bubble is, after all, a paid platform for artist-fan communication, and even if Lee Kwang-soo actively shows a friendly side, it does not mean fans can lose basic respect and boundaries.

Numerous netizens stated that it is positive for artists to humble themselves and interact with fans, but "closeness" does not equate to unlimited joking, nor does it mean that rudeness can be passed off as humor. Some also believed that such messages were no longer simple fan jokes but rather a lack of basic etiquette.

As the incident escalated, calls began to emerge on Korean online communities for fans and artists to maintain healthy interaction boundaries. A platform intended to bring both sides closer has now been overshadowed by the excessive jokes of a few, once again sparking public discussion on the "appropriate limits of fan culture."
