Lee Soo-hyuk Abruptly Exits Netflix's 'The Men of the Harem' After Filming Begins
Korean actor Lee Soo-hyuk (이수혁) was slated to star in the new Netflix series 'The Men of the Harem.' However, despite the production having officially commenced filming, news suddenly emerged that he had decided to leave the cast, surprising many. Regarding the reason for the last-minute recasting, Lee Soo-hyuk's agency only stated "scheduling conflicts," adding, "Please inquire with the production company for more details."
According to Korean media reports, news of Lee Soo-hyuk's departure from 'The Men of the Harem' broke on the 19th. His sudden exit has garnered significant attention, especially since the drama had already completed its script reading and officially begun filming.
Lee Soo-hyuk's agency, People Entertainment, confirmed to Korean media outlet iMBC Entertainment, "Lee Soo-hyuk will indeed be withdrawing from 'The Men of the Harem' due to scheduling issues."

While it is not uncommon for actors to be replaced due to scheduling conflicts before a drama officially begins filming, mid-production cast changes are relatively rare. Given that 'The Men of the Harem' had already completed its script reading and started shooting, Lee Soo-hyuk's announcement has naturally sparked considerable discussion.
When pressed by media for further details, such as whether Lee Soo-hyuk had participated in the script reading or filmed any scenes, People Entertainment did not elaborate, only responding, "We cannot provide detailed information; please inquire with the production company." Production company Studio Dragon told iMBC Entertainment, "This is a project that began filming after completing the script reading. Lee Soo-hyuk withdrew due to scheduling reasons." They did not offer further details.
