Theqoo Community Focuses on BTS Fansite Master, Not 'Liar'
In contrast, on the popular Korean online community Theqoo (더쿠), discussions around 'Liar' were overshadowed by the return of a fansite master (homma) for BTS (방탄소년단) member Jeon Jungkook (전정국). Comments like "Isn't this homma the most famous one in the idol world, not just the BTS fandom? haha" and "It's amazing... how can they be so busy and still have time to take photos?" were prevalent, with little reaction to the drama itself (Source: Theqoo).
Analysis: Contrasting Interests in K-Culture
This difference in reaction temperature clearly shows where the primary interests of each community lie, separate from the inherent appeal of the media content itself. While mainstream media and the general public focus on the actors' reunion and the quality of the work, specific fandom communities tend to be more sensitive to issues related to individual idol activities and fan culture.
Anticipation Builds for 'Liar'
Anticipation is high for how Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin's deep psychological thriller 'Liar' will resonate, thanks to the synergy of their acting.
