American actress Margaret Qualley and musician Jack Antonoff have reportedly split less than three years after their wedding, sparking widespread discussion. Unexpectedly, BLACKPINK member Rosé has also been pulled into the conversation, as the online theory known as the "Rosé Curse" has resurfaced.
Less Than 3 Years Married: Foreign Media Calls Relationship "Rocky"
According to confirmation from PEOPLE, Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have separated, with sources describing their relationship as "rocky." The couple tied the knot in August 2023 on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, in a star-studded ceremony attended by celebrities like Taylor Swift, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, and Lana Del Rey.
Following news of their split, numerous speculations have emerged online, with Rosé's name unexpectedly being brought up repeatedly.
The original report mentioned that fans pointed to past photos of Rosé and Jack Antonoff, bringing the so-called "Rosé Curse" back to the forefront of discussion.
Where Did the "Rosé Curse" Come From?
This theory first gained traction in September 2021. At the time, Gigi Hadid posted a photo with Rosé at the Met Gala, and weeks later, her split from Zayn Malik was confirmed. Since then, the "curse" theory has followed Rosé and been applied to multiple celebrity breakups.
The original article also noted that after Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were photographed with Rosé at the 2022 VMAs, their subsequent breakup was cited as another example. Additionally, rumors of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's split were also linked to Rosé in online discussions.
The most recent example linked to the curse was the news of Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater's breakup.
Split News Ignites New Jokes on Social Media
Now that Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff are rumored to have split, the theory has been brought up again online, with related jokes and discussions appearing on social media platforms.
However, Rosé herself previously responded to this theory, admitting she doesn't like being associated with other people's breakups. Yet, with each new celebrity breakup, the internet seems unwilling to let go of the "curse" topic.
