Min Kyung-hoon Departs 'Knowing Bros' After 11 Years; New Member Plans Revealed

Singer and host Min Kyung-hoon (민경훈) has reportedly departed from the popular South Korean variety show 'Knowing Bros' (아는 형님) after 11 years. Min has been a fixed cast member since 2015, appearing alongside Kang Ho-dong (강호동), Lee Soo-geun (이수근), and Seo Jang-hoon (서장훈). News of his decision to leave the show, with his final recording already completed, has quickly garnered significant attention.

According to a 'Star News' report on the 28th, Min Kyung-hoon recently discussed his future with the production team and decided to leave the JTBC variety show. He expressed his desire to take a temporary break from the program to recharge, a decision the production team respected after 11 years of collaboration.

Following Kim Hee-chul's (김희철) temporary departure due to health reasons, Min Kyung-hoon's exit is set to bring further changes to the fixed cast lineup of 'Knowing Bros'.

Currently, original members Kang Ho-dong, Lee Soo-geun, Seo Jang-hoon, and Kim Young-chul (김영철) remain on the show. Lee Sang-min (이상민) joined in March 2016, and Kim Shin-young (김신영) became a cast member in May of this year.

Over the years, Min Kyung-hoon has been beloved by viewers for his unique 'four-dimensional' personality and unpredictable, hilarious remarks, showcasing his strong variety show presence on 'Knowing Bros'. He also developed a unique chemistry with the other members, adding significant vitality to the program.

Notably, Min Kyung-hoon held a deep affection for 'Knowing Bros', even choosing to announce his marriage news on the show. In November 2024, he married Shin Ki-eun (신기은), a JTBC producer four years his senior, with whom he connected through 'Knowing Bros'.

Regarding the vacancy left by Min Kyung-hoon, it is understood that the show will temporarily feature 'special members'. As Min Kyung-hoon officially steps down after approximately 11 years with 'Knowing Bros', public attention is now focused on what new changes the program will introduce.

Min Kyung-hoon debuted in 2003 as the lead vocalist of the band Buzz, gaining popularity for his distinctive voice and strong personal style. Buzz released many hit songs, including "Coward" (겁쟁이) and "Thorn" (가시), establishing Min Kyung-hoon as one of the most recognizable male singers in the Korean music scene.
