NCT WISH’s SION, MEOVV’s GAWON Draw Dating Rumors Over Alleged Matching Rings, Keychains

NCT WISH member SION (시온), under SM Entertainment, has recently been swept up in dating speculation with GAWON (가원) of girl group MEOVV, with claims circulating online that the two may be using alleged “couple items.” The rumors have prompted heated discussion among fans, but the claims so far stem mainly from anonymous accounts, and neither the artists nor their agencies have confirmed whether they are dating.

An anonymous user recently posted on X, formerly Twitter, claiming SION and GAWON may be in a relationship and compiling several pieces of what the user called “dating evidence.” The claims included drink cups the two allegedly had with the same number, as well as footage from the Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) in which SION appeared to look toward GAWON.

The account also claimed the two appeared to own several matching “couple items,” including the same keychains and rings.

The account further compared the two idols’ outfits, alleging that both appeared to own similar Chrome Hearts pieces and coordinated Rick Owens items. Although the clothing was not identical, the poster argued that the items looked like a set or echoed each other, framing them as possible clues to a relationship.

Beyond fashion and accessories, playlists the two have shared publicly were also cited as supposed “dating evidence.” The anonymous poster argued that their music tastes and playlists had several similarities, leading to speculation that the two might have a special connection.

After the posts spread online, reactions from internet users were sharply divided.

Some argued that similar fashion tastes or music preferences are far from enough to prove the two are dating, noting that Chrome Hearts is already popular among many Korean idols and that owning the same or similar items does not necessarily point to a romantic relationship.

One user joked, “If that counts as dating, doesn’t that mean every male and female idol who likes Chrome Hearts is dating each other?”

Others were unconvinced by the claims, saying they would not mind if idols were actually dating but would prefer that they not leave overly obvious hints in public.

Some users also directly pushed back on the alleged “couple items,” pointing out that most of the clothing shown in the photos came from brands that are highly popular in the idol scene and were not particularly distinctive.

One user said, “Everything in the photos you posted is from brands that are famous in the idol world. I really don’t know what you’re trying to prove.” The user added that one of GAWON’s bandmates also owns the same hoodie from the brand, while the pants in another photo had been “worn by many idols.”

For now, the dating rumors involving SION and GAWON remain at the level of online discussion. The alleged “couple items,” shared brands and playlists do not on their own confirm a romantic relationship between the two. Neither the artists nor their agencies have publicly responded to the rumors.
