NewJeans accused of plagiarising 'Infinite Challenge' for their new song following 'Ditto'! Netizens joke: Infinity Challenge really has everything. LOL

The girl group NewJeans recently released a teaser clip for their new song "ASAP" on YouTube. The five members dressed up like fairies, wandering in the prairies and the ocean floor, creating a very dreamy atmosphere. However, some netizens found out an old episode from the variety show "Infinite Challenge" and accused NewJeans of plagiarizing Park Myung Soo.

Today, on the Korean website the qoo, a netizen uploaded a post titled "NewJeans Plagiarism Controversy". The netizen compared the recent fairy-like outfit of NewJeans with the fairy character played by Park Myung Soo in the past TV show "Infinite Challenge".

From the screenshots of the program, it can be seen that Park Myung-soo wore a golden wig, flowers in his hair, and dressed in pure white. Combined with the dreamy floral backdrop, from a distance he looked very similar to NewJeans' style. Netizens jokingly commented on whether it was plagiarized, responding: "It's definitely possible."

Upon seeing the related post, netizens also laughed and commented: "Infinite Challenge is really too powerful," "Director, please explain ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ," "It's really exactly the same, it's too hilarious!" and "Infinite Challenge truly is all-encompassing."

When NewJeans released "Ditto" last year, it was humorously pointed out by netizens that it was identical to the 2011 field trip episode of "Infinite Challenge". The similarities were strikingly high with the scenes where Jung Hyung-don was holding a camera, fooling around with Yoo Jae-suk and others, leading to heated discussions among netizens.

At the time, MV director Shin Yoo-suk personally responded and shared a comparison picture from netizens on his IG Story, saying: "I want to clarify that there was no plagiarism involved. Even if some scenes are somewhat similar, I hope everyone will understand it from the perspective of genre. Thank you."

The director later laughed and said: "It was just a joke, but I received so many supportive DMs, I couldn't respond to them all," which made netizens laugh out loud with comments like, "It really is 'Infinite Challenge', it predicted everything", "The emotions of 'Infinite Challenge' really are different!"
