[Making History] PSY's 'Gangnam Style' Hits 6 Billion Views! First MV by an Asian Artist to Do So
South Korean singer PSY has once again made YouTube history! His iconic music video for 'Gangnam Style' surpassed 6 billion views on YouTube on July 17th, becoming the first MV by an Asian artist to reach this incredible milestone, and the 5th music video overall to achieve it.
Released in 2012, Reaches New Milestone Over 14 Years Later
The 'Gangnam Style' MV was originally released on July 15, 2012. This latest achievement of over 6 billion views comes more than 14 years after its initial release. The song exploded on YouTube when it first came out, also becoming the first music video in YouTube history to reach 1 billion views.
From 1 billion to 6 billion, 'Gangnam Style' continues to break records, allowing PSY to once again make new history on global video platforms with his signature track from 2012.
