Korean entertainer Hwang Kwanghee and SHINee member Minho first became acquainted while filming “Star King” and later co-starred in the 2012 SBS drama “To the Beautiful You,” maintaining a strong friendship for years. Kwanghee recently shared numerous heartwarming stories about Minho, detailing his thoughtfulness both professionally and personally. Kwanghee couldn't help but praise Minho, stating he “has almost nothing he’s not good at,” and even revealed his iPhone’s AirDrop name is set directly to “Choi Minho,” a detail that brought smiles and highlighted their close bond.
On May 10, the YouTube channel “SOLOMONCHORD” released an interview with Minho, where Kwanghee also shared insights into their private interactions. He revealed that while Minho might not always make time for a casual meetup, if Kwanghee is participating in a golf-related program, Minho will unexpectedly book a course, personally come to coach him, and later follow up to ask about the filming results.
During one outing, Kwanghee, a new car owner and novice driver, was visibly nervous behind the wheel. Minho, noticing his discomfort, told him to “pull over the car” and took over driving himself. Kwanghee expressed his gratitude, saying, “He even helps me with things like that.” Minho, laughing, recalled that he was simply worried Kwanghee, having just bought a car and being so nervous, might get into an accident.
Kwanghee openly expressed his admiration for Minho, stating that among his peers in the entertainment industry, he respects Minho the most, alongside Yoo Jae-suk. “You are someone who does everything well—singing, acting, variety shows,” he told Minho.
Their close friendship is even reflected in their phone settings. Kwanghee revealed that his iPhone’s AirDrop device name is set to “Choi Minho,” which left Minho looking incredulous. Kwanghee then pulled out his phone to prove it, drawing laughter from everyone present.
Kwanghee’s deep admiration for Minho also stems from their past acting collaboration. During their time filming the K-drama “To the Beautiful You,” Kwanghee observed Minho not only taking care of staff but also actively engaging with and showing concern for even the extras. “He wouldn’t even go back to the waiting room, staying until dawn to match the on-set atmosphere,” Kwanghee recalled, adding that he learned a great deal from this experience and solidified his belief that Minho is someone truly worth emulating.
Meanwhile, Minho recently released his second mini-album, “Make it hot,” and continues to be active in his music career.
