SM introduces their new boy group RIIZE, seven years after NCT's debut. Everyone is looking forward!
SM Entertainment recently introduced their new boy group, RIIZE. Expectations are high on RIIZE as they will be the ones who will open the doors for SM's new era, as SM announces their debut after Lee Soo-man left. After experiencing internal conflict over management rights earlier this year, SM declared the beginning of the “SM 3.0” era.

It was announced that SM will change its constitution around the multi-production center and release new groups in a new production system. SM started by announcing their new boy group, RIIZE.

They will be the first SM artist that will not be managed by SM's former general manager Lee Soo-man unlike all SM's idol groups before. To make it clear, RIIZE will not be a part of SM's KWANGYA and is completely different and independent. RIIZE’s concept will be revealed soon.

RIIZE is a seven-member boy group and is set to debut in September. This will be their first boy group, seven years after NCT's debut. The name, RIIZE came from the word “Rise”, which means growth, and “Realize”, which means a team that grows together and realizes their dreams.

After Shotaro and Sungchan's withdrawal from NCT, it is confirmed that they will re-debut in RIIZE along with SM Rookies' Eunseok and Seunghan, and new faces Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton. Anton is the son of singer and producer Yoon Sang and actress Shim Hye Jin. He's been gaining a lot of attention since the announcement because of his visuals and people have been bringing back his old videos.

In addition, everyone is looking forward to Shotaro and Sungchan's re-debut and their improvement since they have been performing a few songs in NCT. RIIZE's production will be headed by Lee Sangmin, and Kim Hyung-guk, also the head of management and production of EXO and Super Junior.

It is reported that RIIZE's genre will be emotional pop and regarding this, it was said that it can be seen as a concept of SHINee when they emerged as a contemporary band in the past. In addition, their group name itself 'RIIZE' means that they will grow into the pop genre.
