Villainous 'Chief Nam' Actor Lee Dong-ha Revealed as Devoted Husband to Girl's Day's Sojin
The K-drama "The Spy Who Loved Me," starring So Ji-sub (소지섭), may have concluded, but it continues to generate buzz. While the main cast remains in the spotlight, the cold-blooded villain "Chief Nam," Joo Sang-wook's (주상욱) right-hand man in the series, also garnered significant attention with his ruthless tactics and intense presence. Unexpectedly, Lee Dong-ha (이동하), who portrayed this formidable character, is revealed to be the husband of Girl's Day (걸스데이) member Sojin (소진) and a devoted spouse. Their sweet married life was recently unveiled, with their affectionate interactions drawing exclamations of "too sweet" from viewers.

At the end of MBC's variety show "Omniscient Interfering View" on the 8th, a preview featuring Lee Dong-ha was released. The chilling "Chief Nam" from the drama appeared completely different in real life, showcasing a gentle and loving husband.

In the preview, Lee Dong-ha was seen picking up an intercom at home early in the morning, gently saying, "Good morning." Moments later, his wife Sojin sweetly replied, "Good morning." Their simple daily interaction of exchanging greetings through the intercom was filled with a sweet atmosphere.

Furthermore, immediately after waking up, Sojin nestled into Lee Dong-ha's arms, and he affectionately stroked her hair. Their natural and intimate interactions clearly revealed their marital bliss. Even the show's manager couldn't help but playfully remark, "It seems Lee Dong-ha's world revolves around Sojin." They even joked, "It makes you want to stay single forever," drawing laughter from the set.

While Lee Dong-ha played a ruthless villain in "The Spy Who Loved Me," he is a gentle and loving husband in private. Sojin has also shared that her husband has a very gentle personality, but his intimidating on-screen persona was so strong that some even warned her, "Be careful not to make him angry." This stark contrast between his on-screen and off-screen personas has unexpectedly become a humorous topic for the couple.
Lee Dong-ha and Sojin dated for many years, and after a stable relationship, they married in November 2023. On their wedding day, all Girl's Day members — Hyeri (혜리), Yura (유라), and Minah (민아) — were present to witness their friend's important life event. Now, as they approach their third year of marriage, their affection remains strong.
Having dated for many years, the couple had already built deep trust. When Sojin announced her marriage, she wrote a heartfelt confession, describing Lee Dong-ha as "the person who fills the emptiness in my heart with love" and someone who allows her to catch her breath and rest when she is busy with life, making her feel like the most precious person in the world. She stated that Lee Dong-ha is someone she deeply respects and loves, and her sincere confession moved many fans. Sojin also expressed her intention to continue her acting career after marriage, promising to repay her supportive fans with better works and performances.
Lee Dong-ha, 43, officially debuted in 2008 with the musical "Greece." He subsequently gained recognition through popular works such as "Signal" and "The World of the Married." In 2022, he joined 51K, the agency founded by So Ji-sub, and has since collaborated with So Ji-sub multiple times, appearing in "Doctor Lawyer," "The Killer's Shopping List," and "The Spy Who Loved Me."
This time, Lee Dong-ha successfully left a deep impression on viewers with his portrayal of the cold-blooded "Chief Nam," bringing renewed attention to the actor who debuted many years ago. The stark contrast between his terrifying on-screen villain and his gentle, devoted husband persona in real life has unexpectedly won him many fans.
