Korean singer and artist Solbi (솔비) has announced her engagement. On October 15, she officially revealed plans to marry actor Lee Kyu-han (이규한), with their wedding slated for April 2027. Coincidentally, Solbi celebrated her 42nd birthday earlier this month, where she wished to be "two people next year, and three people the year after." The engagement news, coming just two weeks later, has brought renewed attention to her earlier remarks.

Solbi's agency, Jian Castle, announced on October 15 that after careful consideration, Solbi and Lee Kyu-han decided to marry, building on their mutual trust and love. Both families recently met to formally discuss wedding arrangements, with the ceremony scheduled for April 2027.
The agency also revealed that the wedding will be a private affair, attended only by immediate family, relatives, and close friends, as the couple wishes for a low-key celebration.
Earlier this month, on October 1, Solbi celebrated her 42nd birthday. She shared updates on social media, revealing she was spending her birthday in Krabi, Thailand. She wrote, "I'm spending this year's birthday like this. I hope to welcome next year's birthday as two people, and the year after as three people." At the time, these words were interpreted as her hopes for marriage and starting a family. With the engagement news now public, there's increased curiosity about her potential plans for children.

Solbi's past comments on marriage and childbirth have also resurfaced. In August of last year, during an appearance on the KBS2 variety show *Problem Child in House* (옥탑방의 문제아들), she revealed that she had frozen her eggs three years prior, with two years remaining until their storage expiration.
Discussing her thoughts on marriage, Solbi admitted that her active consideration of marriage wasn't solely for pregnancy and childbirth. However, her father's passing left her with regret that she couldn't introduce her partner and children to him. She also expressed a desire for her mother to see her find a life partner and start a family. At the time, she mentioned she was seriously contemplating marriage, and now, the good news has finally arrived.
In fact, Solbi and Lee Kyu-han's connection was hinted at last year. The two appeared together on the KBS dating variety show *Finding Old Love* (구라철), where they went on a car date, sharing an ambiguous atmosphere. Lee Kyu-han then revealed that he had been a fan of Solbi since first meeting her eight years prior on another variety show. He confessed, "I really liked you back then, but because we didn't get close, I didn't even dare to ask for your contact information."

Solbi responded, "Although we've known each other for a long time, we've always just crossed paths. I actually always wanted to get closer to you." Lee Kyu-han also admitted that he wasn't very good at getting close to people, which is why he hadn't expressed his desire to befriend her. He then complimented her directly, saying, "But seeing you again now, you've really become so beautiful."
Lee Kyu-han then directly asked Solbi, "If things go well between us here, would you consider marriage?" He confessed that he never expected to develop such serious feelings on a dating show. Solbi stated that she had always hoped to have a flirtatious romance on the show and had intentions of marriage, noting that at her age, she wasn't against it. Now that the two have found their happy ending, their past conversation has become a sweet, memorable prelude.
However, Lee Kyu-han previously had a public relationship. He and Yujeong (유정), a former member of the girl group BB GIRLS (브브걸) who is 11 years his junior, met in early 2023 while filming a variety show. In September of the same year, their agencies confirmed they were dating. During their relationship, the couple frequently shared their interactions and publicly displayed affection on Instagram, garnering significant attention.
Unexpectedly, the relationship lasted only about a year, with the couple announcing their breakup in August of last year. Following the split, they not only deleted their interactions on Instagram but also unfollowed each other's accounts, which sparked considerable discussion at the time. Now, with Lee Kyu-han's new engagement to Solbi, the woman with whom he had sparks on a dating show, the development of this relationship is drawing significant attention.
