Song Ji-hyo Ditches Signature Hair Clip, Fans Praise Youthful New Look
South Korean actress Song Ji-hyo (송지효) recently debuted a brand-new look, finally ditching the 'shark clip' hairstyle that had drawn frequent complaints from fans. The reveal of her new style immediately sparked widespread discussion, with many fans exclaiming, "She finally changed it!"
On July 30, Song Ji-hyo released a new video titled "What happens when Song Ji-hyo goes to Songjiho Beach?" on her personal YouTube channel. The video documented her vacation to Songjiho Beach in Goseong, Gangwon Province.

In the video, Song Ji-hyo joyfully shared, "This is the third episode of our summer escape series. For the first episode, I wanted to film a rainy stream, but it didn't rain; for the second, I wanted to film rainy camping, and it didn't rain either. Today, I also planned to film a rainy beach, but it still looks like it won't rain at all." She laughed, adding, "It seems I'm truly a person suited for the sea; I'm so happy!"
That day, Song Ji-hyo appeared with pigtails and a bucket hat, showcasing a refreshing and playful summer look. She also described her outfit, stating, "This is my vacation outfit. Later, I'll change into clothes suitable for swimming." She even shared details about her hat, socks, and sunglasses. When she later changed into a rash guard for water activities, she maintained the same hairstyle.

However, what garnered the most attention was her long-awaited change from her previously controversial hairstyle.
In fact, Song Ji-hyo had frequently used a shark clip to casually tie up her hair while filming YouTube videos, leading to numerous complaints from fans. They felt that while her casual style was fine in private, they hoped she would make an effort to present her best self when working or appearing on shows.
