The controversy surrounding South Korean disabled YouTuber Park We (박위) continues to escalate after he released CCTV footage, accusing a public service worker of tripping him during a KTX train ride. This incident has brought renewed attention to a past fortune-telling analysis of his marriage to his wife, former Secret member Song Ji-eun (송지은). The fortune teller had previously analyzed their horoscopes, stating that Song would "have to endure a lot" and describing the marriage as particularly challenging for the "female partner." These past comments have recently garnered significant interest.
In December 2024, fortune teller "Oseonggung Park Yeon" (오성궁 박연) uploaded a YouTube video titled "Song Ji-eun ♥ WeRacle Park We Divine Reading / This Man Has Many Uncomfortable Aspects... Not Good, Not Good," which analyzed the couple's horoscopes. Park We and Song Ji-eun officially registered their marriage in September 2024 and held their wedding ceremony in Seoul the following October.
Analyzing Song Ji-eun's horoscope, the fortune teller described her as kind-hearted and the type of person who "only has eyes for one person," but also suggested she "might need to endure a lot" in her marriage. For Park We, the fortune teller noted his "somewhat impulsive temper" and a personality that leans "more towards self-interest than consideration."
The fortune teller bluntly stated, "Simply put, it's a horoscope where the woman is more unfortunate." She even added, "If I saw a horoscope like this, I would oppose the marriage," believing the woman would face greater difficulties if she married this man. However, she clarified that this "difficulty" wasn't solely financial, but rather that "there would be many things she would have to endure and bear because of her husband," describing the man's horoscope as "quite unique."
After confirming the horoscopes belonged to Park We and Song Ji-eun, the fortune teller still expressed, "Personally, I still hope they can live well together." However, she reiterated, "The woman will have to endure a lot, which is a bit regrettable. The woman made a very big decision."
Notably, Park We's recent controversy over releasing CCTV footage has brought this past fortune-telling content back into the spotlight.
On the 21st, Park We posted a video titled "Why I Released the CCTV Footage" on his YouTube channel "WeRacle." In the video, he revealed that he had an accident on the 14th while disembarking a KTX train after a speaking engagement out of town.
However, after the video was released, some netizens felt that Park We's actions were excessive, given that the public service worker who assisted him had already apologized. They criticized his decision to still release the accident CCTV footage and express anger in a way that seemed to "single out and blame" the individual.
In response to the public criticism, Park We subsequently deleted the CCTV video and issued a public apology. He stated, "At the time of the incident, the staff member did their best to assist me and apologized politely, but I did not consider their perspective."
Park We also admitted, "I only viewed the mistake, which occurred as they tried to help me better, from a negative perspective. My way of expressing myself was not mature enough, and my thoughts were not thorough enough. I apologize to everyone who worked hard to assist me at the scene."
He also apologized to his viewers, saying, "I also deeply apologize to all the viewers who watched the video. I will keep your advice in mind and approach content creation with a more mature attitude. I will also use this incident as an opportunity to be more careful and responsible in everything I do going forward. I sincerely apologize again to everyone."
