Former (G)I-DLE member Soojin to make solo debut

According to a report by the South Korean media on the 16th, Seo Soojin, a singer from the girl group (G)I-DLE, is preparing to make her debut as a solo artist this fall.

Seo Soojin had previously interrupted her activities due to suspicions of being involved in a school bullying incident. This time, she resumed activities after 2 years and 8 months. She had previously created her own IG account in July of this year and sparked considerable discussion through interaction with her fans.

In 2021, netizens revealed that Seo Soojin had once bullied others during her middle school years. In addition to the original whistleblower, other people came forward to provide testament. Even actress Seo Shinae publicly stated that she had been a victim, which caused the incident to escalate.

Under continuous controversy, Soojin ultimately left (G)I-DLE. After Soojin's departure, (G)I-DLE continued their activities as a five-member group, releasing several hit songs such as "TOMBOY" and "Nxde," becoming a leading girl group.

Even though Soojin later filed a lawsuit against the original whistleblower, she was dismissed by the police for lack of suspicion. Afterwards, Soojin's legal representative stated, "The party concerned has been interested in singing and dancing since middle school, so she didn't pay much attention to her studies. Although she was suspected of participating in school bullying in the process, she was never disciplined, which also proves that she never did such a thing."
