THE BOYZ's Eric Denies Dating Rumors with Jeon So-mi After Cafe Video Goes Viral

Eric (에릭), a member of K-pop boy group THE BOYZ (더보이즈), has recently been caught in dating rumors. Multiple photos and videos circulating online allegedly show him on a private date with a female idol, sparking heated discussions among fans. Some even speculated the woman in question was Jeon So-mi (전소미).

Several posts related to Eric have appeared online recently, suggesting close interactions with a woman. One set of photos showed Eric alongside a woman at an event, while a video of the two at a cafe also surfaced. Some netizens claimed the woman in the video appeared to be Jeon So-mi.

These alleged "dating proofs" quickly ignited discussions within the fandom. However, the incident's origin also traces back to Eric re-sharing a post from a Korean fan regarding pre-sale information for a Korea-exclusive concert. This sparked discontent among some international fans who couldn't access the same ticketing benefits, and their frustration subsequently extended to Eric.

As the dating rumors intensified, Eric directly addressed them through a fan communication platform, emphasizing that the circulating content was not true.

Eric stated, "Deobi (THE BOYZ's fandom name), I feel it's necessary to clarify things correctly because those rumors are not true."

He explained that he had only briefly attended the location after being invited by an acquaintance, stressing that the person was "just someone he knew in the entertainment industry" and that there was no other relationship between them.

Eric also admitted that after seeing various groundless rumors begin to spread, he felt it was necessary to personally step forward and clarify: "Because I don't want Deobi to feel unnecessarily anxious or worried because of this."

He also apologized for the distress caused to fans by this controversy: "I am also sorry that Deobi who were hurt by this feel sad, although this was not my intention. Every Deobi is equally precious and very important to me."

Finally, Eric expressed his hope that fans would no longer misunderstand due to the related rumors, emphasizing that his personal clarification was intended to set the record straight.

Currently, it remains unconfirmed whether the woman in the circulating photos and videos is indeed Jeon So-mi. Eric, however, has personally denied the dating rumors, asserting that their relationship is merely that of acquaintances in the entertainment industry.
