TWICE is set to celebrate its 11th debut anniversary, a day typically reserved for fans and idols to enjoy together. However, JYP Entertainment’s (JYP) Division 3 recently unveiled the arrangements for the 11th-anniversary fan party, sparking widespread dissatisfaction among Korean and international ONCEs (TWICE’s official fandom). Korean netizens have even compiled “five major points of contention,” criticizing everything from the number of participants and event location to fan eligibility. Some have speculated that the arrangements might be linked to ongoing contract renewal negotiations with the members.
JYP Entertainment recently announced the schedule for TWICE’s 11th-anniversary fan party, which will consist of three sessions. Each session will only select 250 fans, bringing the total number of participants to just 750. The news immediately shocked fans, with many exclaiming, “TWICE’s 11th-anniversary event only has 750 people?”
Korean netizens quickly summarized the “five reasons” for fan dissatisfaction. First, the number of available spots is surprisingly small: three sessions a day, with 250 people per session, totaling only 750 fans. Compared to TWICE’s massive fanbase, this is considered far too limited.

Second, the event location remains undisclosed less than two weeks before the event. Fans believe that with time already tight, not knowing basic venue information is baffling.
Third, participation eligibility is restricted. The event is only open to ONCE 5th-generation members, whose membership recruitment took place in April 2025. Participants must also be at least 15 years old, meaning newer fans who recently joined the fandom and younger ONCEs are unable to participate.
Fourth, the actual event time is likely to be very short. Fans estimate, based on the scheduled entry times and intervals between sessions, that the actual interaction time with TWICE in each session might only be about 40 minutes. This led some fans to question, “Is this even considered an anniversary fan event?”
Fifth, the disparity between the anniversary event and the pop-up store scale has caused resentment. TWICE’s 11th-anniversary pop-up store is scheduled to run from the 17th to the 25th. In contrast, only 750 fans can attend the fan party, leading fans to believe that the overall arrangements do not align with the significance of an 11th anniversary.
In fact, JYP Entertainment’s Division 3 has previously faced criticism from fans over venue issues for TWICE fan meetings. Looking back at recent years, TWICE’s 8th and 9th-anniversary fan meetings were held at Olympic Hall, with two sessions daily. The 10th anniversary moved to Hwajeong Gymnasium, with only one session daily. Now, with the 11th-anniversary event also perceived as scaled down, long-standing dissatisfaction has resurfaced.
The Korean online comment sections were instantly flooded with complaints. Some exclaimed, “Even 2,500 people per session might not be enough, and now it’s only 250?” Others lamented, “An idol group that can fill Japan’s National Stadium has an 11th-anniversary event for only 750 people.”
Many fans questioned JYP: “With so many fans, why are the anniversary events getting smaller?” and “They knew the 10th-anniversary fan meeting already caused a lot of dissatisfaction, but they still arranged the 11th anniversary this way.” Some even suggested that if so few fans could attend, “it would be more practical to just hold a group live stream.”
Notably, some Korean online comments pointed fingers at TWICE members’ contract renewals. Some speculated that the company’s delay in announcing the venue might be related to ongoing contract negotiations with the members. Some fans even believe that if some members’ contract renewals have not been fully settled, it could impact the group’s activity planning.
One netizen commented, “Is the venue rental delayed because they are currently negotiating member contracts?” Another lamented that if some members truly do not renew, opportunities to see full TWICE group activities might decrease in the future, adding, “More fans should be allowed to see them for their 11th anniversary.”

However, JYP Entertainment has not yet confirmed any connection between the 11th-anniversary event arrangements and member contract renewal negotiations. These claims remain in the realm of fan speculation. Nevertheless, the continuous eruption of discussions over issues ranging from attendance limits and venue to participation eligibility has unexpectedly turned TWICE’s 11th anniversary, which should have been a day of celebration, into a new wave of controversy between fans and the company.
