18日據韓媒OSEN的獨家報導，韓國歌謠界高層相關人士表示：「YG計劃將於今年下半年推出新女團。雖然還沒有到公司內部具體共享相關事項的階段，但是確實在內部捕捉到了相關動向。」
隨後YG娛樂官方方面也作出回應表示：「確實正在準備推出新女團。」
另外今日有媒體報道稱YG最近註冊成功了「BABYMON&베이비몬」商標，並已於4月30日正式註冊了「BAEMON&베몬」商標。
因此媒體預測YG新女團暫定名或為BABYMONSTER，並由六名成員組成。
新女團是一個類似於Bigmama風格的實力派女團，出道後發展重點將放在音樂領域上。除了聲樂之外，還會添加女團中不可或缺的視覺效果。
此次女團的推出是YG繼2009年出道的2NE1和2016年出道的BLACKPINK之後，時隔5年公開新女團。
新女團將以怎樣的面貌出現在世界舞台上，又將以怎樣的魅力俘獲大眾的心，備受期待。
