South Korea's 'Nation's MC' Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) recently sparked health concerns after reports emerged of him feeling unwell. He was scheduled to film the SBS variety show 'Whenever There's Time' in Seoul's Jongno District on Tuesday. Although he had already arrived at the filming location, he informed the production team about his condition before shooting officially began, leading to the decision to cancel the day's filming.
According to a MyDaily report on Tuesday, Yoo Jae-suk proceeded to the Jongno area in Seoul as scheduled to record 'Whenever There's Time.' However, before filming officially began, he explained his physical condition to the on-site staff. After evaluating the situation, the production team ultimately decided to cancel the day's shooting schedule.
Sources at the scene revealed that Yoo Jae-suk has recently been suffering from a cold and general discomfort, compounded by a high fever, which significantly deteriorated his overall condition. Although he pushed through his discomfort to arrive at the filming site, an assessment found that his condition had not improved, necessitating the postponement of the scheduled activities.
An on-site staff member commented, "He didn't look well when he arrived, and everyone was very worried." It is understood that Yoo Jae-suk personally apologized to the staff, hoping for their understanding regarding the last-minute cancellation.
This sudden cancellation has garnered particular attention because Yoo Jae-suk, known for his professionalism throughout his long career, has rarely canceled work on the day of filming due to health issues, even when feeling unwell in the past.
In 2021, Yoo Jae-suk canceled filming for tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (유 퀴즈 온 더 블럭) after testing positive for COVID-19. However, according to Korean media reports, this recent cancellation due to general poor health on the day of filming is considered a very rare occurrence in his career.
'Whenever There's Time' is a variety show that focuses on "small pockets of free time in daily life," delivering luck and surprises during people's brief moments of leisure. The program is currently in its fifth season and airs every Tuesday at 9 PM KST.
