FIFTY FIFTY is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with their management company ATTRAKT, and they have announced their intention to pursue legal measures for contract termination. This has sparked anger among many netizens, who strongly criticise FIFTY FIFTY's behaviour.
Despite being a small entertainment management company, ATTRAKT was able to make FIFTY FIFTY a success, which many people consider a miracle for a small business. However, after the popularity of their song "Cupid," FIFTY FIFTY requested contract termination, sparking a heated discussion among netizens online.
Meanwhile, on online discussion forums, netizens have even posted an interview from the month of May, featuring ATTRAKT's representative, Jeon Hong-joon (60 years old), and the head of the management department, Choi Seung Ho (60 years old), conducted by a certain Korean media outlet.
During the interview, they revealed the difficulties that FIFTY FIFTY faced during their debut. They mentioned that due to insufficient funds, they couldn't afford the copyright association's stamp fee. As a result, the representative sold his personal Rolex watch and car that he had for 10 years, just to ensure the physical release of FIFTY FIFTY's album.
Additionally, the representative treated the members like his own daughters, offering them education in both character development and English. He went the extra mile to create music videos for each of their songs after their debut. Moreover, their dormitory surpassed the standards set by other prominent agencies, providing them with three rooms and two bathrooms.
Other netizens, upon seeing this, unanimously criticized FIFTY FIFTY for their ingratitude, expressing their opinions such as "I usually don't side with the company, but this time they have gone too far" and "Oh... poor representative, betrayed at the age of 60."
"Hope the representative can successfully recover the money through legal proceedings..." "It's disappointing to see such ingratitude from them." "Wow, the company treated them so well, and they still betrayed them?" "This kind of idol doesn't deserve our support." "What a ridiculous situation."
