The affiliated company stated, "Since April, Kang Run has taken a hiatus from his activities due to health issues and has been focusing on his treatment. After seeing improvement in Kyoungyoon's condition, we have spent a long time discussing the direction of his future activities with him."

At the end of the discussion, Kyoungyoon decided to leave DKZ and plans to enlist in the military this year.

The company also explained that "Kyoungyoon feels a great responsibility for the troubles he has caused for the members and fans," and Kyoungyoon conveyed his feelings by sending a handwritten letter.

Kyoungyoon further said, "Even for the sake of the remaining members, I don't want to regret my decision. I am truly grateful for all the fans who love and support DKZ's Lee Kyoungyoon."

DKZ's Kyoungyoon was revealed in March this year to be a follower of the JMS(Jesus Morning Star). At the time, Kyoungyoon had stated that he had left the cult saying, "Before many people brought up the issues of a certain group and before confirming the content aired on TV programs, I thought the church my parents went to was a normal typical church. I've never encountered the content mentioned in TV programs, nor was I ever aware of it." He publicly apologized for his actions.
