Jeon So-min unexpectedly announced her departure from "Running Man"

Actor Jeon So-min has been a regular host of the SBS variety show "Running Man" since April 2017, and her popularity has skyrocketed due to her bold and unpretentious performance in the show. However, she suddenly announced today that she will be leaving the show.
On the 23rd, Jeon So-min's agency, KINGKONG by STARSHIP, announced, "Jeon So-min will leave the SBS variety show 'Running Man' after the recording ends on October 30th (Monday)."
The agency then stated, "Because this is a long-term collaborative program, we've been grappling with it for some time. After extensive discussions with the members of 'Running Man,' the production team, and our company, in order to present a better image in future acting and other activities, we have decided to take a temporary break to recharge."
The agency also added, "We sincerely thank the viewers who have laughed and cried with Jeon So-min in 'Running Man' every weekend for over six years since April 2017. We hope that you will continue to give warm love and support to Jeon So-min in the future."
After the news broke, fans were quite devastated and many left comments saying: "What a pity! I really like Somin! Still, wish her the best~", "This is so sudden! Hard to accept, but I respect her choice!" However, some netizens started to worry about another regular female host of "Running Man": "Without Somin, Song Jihyo will be more awkward".
Jeon So-min joined the SBS variety show "Running Man" as a regular member together with Yang Se-chan on April 3, 2017. Her character, defined as "crazy" and "love-struck", freely makes a fool of herself for comedy, demonstrates a strong sense of variety show talent, which greatly increased her popularity.
In December of the same year, Jeon So-min won the SBS Entertainment Awards - Best New Female Award and the following year, she won the SBS Entertainment Awards - Best Excellence Award in the Variety Show category, affirming her undeniable talent in variety shows has been recognized by the public.
