On the 23rd, the YouTube show "mmtg_oops" invited Karina, a member of the girl group aespa, as a guest. During the pre-recording meeting, the host Jaejae mentioned, "I heard that Karina's day is like 48 hours long."

Karina said, "Recently I've started to really like watching animations. From this year, I've delved deeper into it, watching 'Tangled' about 100 times," and she sang the OST (Original Soundtrack) of 'Tangled' on the spot.

Karina also mentioned that she has gotten hooked on the Netflix series "The Glory". Jaejae asked, "Have you ever contacted the screenwriter Kim Eun-sook?" To which Karina replied with a laugh, "Is it possible to contact her? I want to become close to screenwriter Kim Eun-sook and be entwined with her.”

Karina said she has also become addicted to dating reality shows: "If we say Reels is like 'Transit Love', Shorts is like 'Heart Signal', then TikTok is 'I Am Solo', it's the ultimate dopamine hit."

Karina also exclaimed, "Don't we have 'I am a Solo Artist,' so that when we reach the marriageable age we can find someone who truly treats love sincerely?"

Regarding this, Karina added, "Every day, among us artists, we talk about 'Love Interference' and what we think about it." Jaejae commented, "Why does it seem like I'm the only one who talks about it in such an interesting way?" which drew a round of laughter.

Additionally, aespa released their fourth mini album "Drama" on the 10th and are currently active in promotions. "Drama" is a hip-hop dance track with a strong drum beat and synth bass, and the lyrics tell the story of "all stories beginning with me."

Karina's beer commercial shoot sparked controversy unexpectedly?K-Pop

Karina's beer commercial shoot sparked controversy unexpectedly?

For a long time, the Korean alcohol industry, for reasons such as not wanting to influence teenagers to drink, has made an effort not to use idols under the age of 24 as advertising models. Moreover, the National Assembly currently also retains related legislation. However, according to Korean media reports, Lotte Chilsung's new product set to launch on the 21st has once again faced criticism for featuring Karina, a member of the girl group aespa. Currently 23 years old, the choice of such a popular idol among adolescents as a spokesperson has led to a fair amount of backlash, not just due to age concerns. Although Karina is now of legal age and there is no legal issue with her serving as a spokesperson for alcohol advertisements, the industry has always tried to avoid using artists under the age of 24, or artists who have a significant influence on teenagers, as advertising representatives. Just like in 2015, the then 22-year-old singer IU once served as the spokesperson for a soju advertisement, which unexpectedly sparked controversy. The National Assembly even proposed to amend the law to prevent celebrities under the age of 24 from participating in alcohol-related advertisements, an act that came to be known as the "IU Law." However, the bill, due to its unconstitutionality, was ultimately not passed and remains on hold. According to South Korean media actual interviews with alcohol brands, like OB Beer and HITE Jinro are currently not using endorsers who are under 24 years old. For instance, the model for OB Beer is singer and actress Suzy (29 years old), for HITE's Jinro soju it's singer IU (34 years old), Kelly Beer is represented by actor Son Sukku (40 years old), and TERRA beer by actor Gong Yoo (44 years old). The Lotte Seven Stars side stated, "The target group for KRUSH is the MZ generation of young people, which is why we chose Karina, who is very popular among young people, as the spokesperson." News of Karina becoming a beer advertisement spokesperson sparked controversy, which also led to a heated discussion on Korean online communities. Comments such as "She's already an adult... And there are so many variety shows featuring drinking on YouTube and television... Karina is 23 years old, why do they have to write such news about her?" and "Karina doesn't have that kind of very young image, I think it's okay," "What is this nonsense?" "They even got IU's age wrong, IU is 30 years old..." "It's not like she's Jang Wonyoung, what's the problem with Karina?" "Could this news have been fabricated by a rival, LOL? She's not underage, she's already an adult, why all the nonsense…" "Roh Yoon-seo and Kim Chae-won were both born in 2000, haven't they both done alcohol ads?"

aespa Karina's comments about infighting in other k-pop girls groups sparks controversy

Recently, Karina, a member of the girl group aespa, mentioned in an interview with Rolling Stone that many Korean pop music groups have conflicts due to different viewpoints, but aespa always manages to find common ground and harmoniously solve problems. A netizen expressed dissatisfaction with Karina on Korean websites: "Karina needs to think before she speaks... She could just say we get along well, why does she have to talk about other groups like this? It's really puzzling." Netizens also mentioned that Karina had been involved in "belittling seniors" before her debut, so they hope she can think clearly before she speaks and not provoke public discontent again. An Internet user agreed and said, "Our group gets along very well. Even if we occasionally have conflicts, we don't fight and solve them very well. Even if we only talk to this extent, it will be very good... There are many groups that fight, but we're not like that. It's not intentional, but it sounds like that." "Is it really a good thing to bring up other groups? It seems like we need to change that. Even within the same industry, there are differences. Saying it like that...it's disrespectful to other groups and to fans as well." Some netizens even left comments saying, "I don't know why Karina is the team leader... She seems to not be very careful when speaking, and she is not a child of an entertainer. If she were to become a nurse like her older sister, it would be more appropriate. This is not degrading nurses, but rather she lacks the star quality like an entertainer and the ability to dress well like others. She doesn't have any more fashion sense than a college student in their early twenties, and she attracts a lot of criticism". However, some netizens hold the opposite opinion: "Although it's true that the comments were made lightly, specific groups' names were not mentioned, so it seems like it's not a very furious argument." "I really don't know what the problem is... Is it necessary to be scolded like this for saying there are many mismatched groups?"
