AKMU's Suhyun suffers from binge eating disorder, and faces rapid weight gain! Admits to avoiding social interactions!

Recently, AKMU (Akdong Musician) returned to the music scene with a new EP titled "LOVE LEE". Not only is it a new release after a two-year hiatus, its catchy melody has quickly sparked many artists to take on the challenge, receiving an enthusiastic response.

In fact, Suhyun previously revealed on her personal YouTube that she suffers from binge eating disorder. Even when she's not hungry, she'd binge eat and drink under stress, and only realizes that she has a problem with overeating when she can no longer eat to her heart's content.

On the 31st, Suhyun shared an extensive message on her personal Instagram, candidly conveying her current emotional state to fans. She disclosed grappling with apprehensions leading up to this comeback, harboring numerous concerns. "Despite singing joyfully and recognizing the affection of many fans, deep down, I'm hesitant about revealing my current self to everyone," she expressed.

Suhyun shared, "I've been avoiding going out much because I was apprehensive about being recognized, and this continued for a considerable duration." However, she recounted an instance when someone conveyed to her, "The reason people adore AKMU is because, as you both evolve and mature over time, you never conceal or falsify your constantly changing appearances; you simply continue to sing with authenticity."

Upon receiving encouragement from numerous fans, Suhyun's spirits lifted, motivating her to present herself in her current state. She conveyed her appreciation for her brother's backing, and he responded with a message of "Stay positive~," along with a playful remark, "The next time you write an article like this, I'll proofread it," and playfully quipped, "There are so many gaps and paragraphs, and certain portions are a bit unclear, so do your best." Surprisingly, her brother's lighthearted response led Suhyun to playfully retort, "I was genuinely furious after reading it."
