Korean singer BIBI recently revealed that her bold image and straightforward personality have unexpectedly made her a “warning target” for many idol agencies. She even shared that her own sister’s agency worries about her getting too close to her sister, prompting BIBI to jokingly protest, “I’m perfectly wholesome and proper!”
On the October 4 broadcast of tvN’s “Sixth Sense,” Jung Jun-ha (정준하) and Choi Ye-na (최예나) appeared as guests. During the show, Choi Ye-na openly discussed her close friendship with BIBI, stating, “We’re really close; my debut song even featured unnie [BIBI].” She explained that they had met and collaborated on variety shows in the past, gradually becoming good friends over time.
BIBI also confirmed their frequent meetings, describing Choi Ye-na as a very close friend. Choi Ye-na praised BIBI’s outspoken personality, saying, “Unnie has a really fiery personality. I’m the type who thinks a lot but hesitates to act, but unnie does whatever she thinks of directly, so we get along very well.”
Hearing this, Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) suddenly changed the topic, jokingly remarking, “You two are very close and have great chemistry, but from an agency’s perspective, hearing Ye-na say she’s meeting with BIBI unnie…” Before he could finish, BIBI immediately interjected, “They’re probably afraid I’ll lead her astray!” which drew laughter from the set. Song Eun-yi (송은이) added, “You used to be the ‘Dark IU’!” once again highlighting BIBI’s strong past image.

BIBI then revealed that even her own sister’s agency has concerns. “Even my sister’s company gets a little uneasy if they know she’s hanging out with me,” she confessed. Yoo Jae-suk offered an analysis from the agencies’ perspective, suggesting it might be due to idols’ strict image management. “From the perspective of an agency CEO, an idol’s image is very important, so that might be why.”

To everyone’s surprise, BIBI immediately protested, “I’m really wholesome and proper!” Yoo Jae-suk quickly came to her defense, saying, “Actually, once you get to know her, you realize she’s not like that at all.”

BIBI has previously shared photos with her sister, Kim Na-kyoung (김나경) of the group tripleS, on social media and personally reposted and supported her sister’s new group, making their close sisterly bond no secret.

To prove her “wholesome” nature, BIBI even brought up her hit song “Bam Yang Gang” (밤양갱), emphasizing that she isn’t as “dangerous” as people might think. Unexpectedly, Yoo Jae-suk immediately seized on the “Gang” in the song title, joking, “But there’s a ‘Gang’ in it!” which once again sent the set into laughter.
Although Yoo Jae-suk teased BIBI throughout, he ultimately vouched for her, stating, “Anyway, everyone, don’t worry. I’ve observed BIBI, and she’s really not that kind of person.” He unexpectedly endorsed the singer, who is considered a “warning target” by idol agencies.
In fact, BIBI recently stirred controversy over her performance at “Waterbomb Seoul 2026” due to its provocative nature. During the show, she was surrounded by male dancers, knelt on stage, and then unzipped her bodysuit, even taking a microphone from a male dancer to sing. After clips of the performance surfaced, some netizens found certain moves to be sexually suggestive, leading to polarized discussions.

Addressing external scrutiny, BIBI has publicly discussed her stage philosophy, stating, “I have my own performance philosophy, which is to make sure that people who pay for tickets are happy.” She revealed that she started preparing for the performance three months in advance, treating the entire show as if it were her “last performance.”
Furthermore, BIBI previously caused a stir during a festival performance at Seoul Olympic Park when she walked into the audience and kissed a female fan. BIBI openly explained the reason behind it, saying, “I know that kissing might make people uncomfortable, so I originally didn’t want to do it. But fans always write messages like ‘BIBI KISS ME’ and ‘Kiss me.’”

BIBI’s words demonstrate her dedication to the stage and the significant effort she invests in each performance. Even though her bold style has sparked controversy in the past, she continues to present her stage in her own unique way, and her distinct personality remains one of the reasons she leaves such a strong impression on the public.
